Canadian actress and former model Tricia Helfer is one of Hollywood's rising acting talents, best known for her portrayal of the humanoid Cylon Number Six on Syfy's critically acclaimed Battlestar Galactica. More recently, Helfer has starred in e.g. Andrew Paquin’s Open House and appeared as Alex Clark on NBC's The Firm. Helfer is also an active benefactor of animal rights and environmental causes.

Dallas News has a great review of Susannah Charleson’s new book The Possibility Dogs which mentions, among other things, a segment in the book about how Tricia Helfer, her husband Jonathan Marshall, actor Mark Derwin and stuntwoman Shauna Galligan helped Charleson save a dog from being put down.
In the most heartwarming of many such chapters, the author tells how actress Tricia Helfer, who played Charleson in a pilot for a TV series based on Scent of the Missing, helped her save a dog with ears like a rabbit that was one day away from euthanasia. With stuntwoman Shauna Galligan, actor Mark Derwin and hubby Jonathan Marshall, Helfer staged a high-speed, cross-country, last-minute race from Toronto to Orange County, Calif., to give Ollie a second chance.
“Ollie is 16, blind and deaf,” Charleson says by phone, “but he works as a therapy dog primarily with seniors and children. Ollie looks like a dog in a bunny suit and has an almost mystical calming effect on children having meltdowns.”
Charleson, as you will remember, was the consulting producer of last year’s TNT pilot Scent of the Missing, a K9 search-and-rescue procedural based on her book by the same name. Tricia appeared in the pilot in the lead (with Galligan as her stunt double) opposite Summer Glau and Eric Winter, but sadly the pilot did not go to series.
Tricia Helfer made an appearance at WGA & TV Guide’s 101 Best Written Series unveiling in Beverly Hills yesterday. Tricia looked rock ‘n’ roll chic at the event in a sheer, black top and faux leather skinny jeans — the first 36 photos of her in our gallery!
Also present were Battlestar Galactica series creator Ronald D. Moore and writer Jane Espenson, who saw BSG place 38th on the “101 Best Written Series of All Time” list revealed at the event last night — not an unworthy achievement! Top place was claimed by The Sopranos; the full list on Deadline.com.
Hope you’re ready for another (big) batch of scans! :)
To celebrate my having recovered these from a recently fried hard drive (:O), the gallery has been updated today with a total 54 very raresite-exclusive (mostly) hi-res magazine scans of Tricia Helfer (mostly) from her modeling days, including editorials in Elle France and Quebec, French Madame Figaro, Grazia Italy and Shine. Most of today’s new scans are courtesy of yours truly; the Elle November 1993 scan is by kelles @ The Fashion Spot and the Hello! Canada scans are originally from Tricia’s official site (no longer available on the site). Without further ado…
I think we’ve managed to piece together some information on a new project! :)
We’ve recently been seeing some tweets pointing in the direction that Tricia Helfer will be making an appearance on the upcoming CTV multi-camera sitcom Spun Out:
@Stealthcan: On set today with the lovely @trutriciahelfer #SpunOut
@trutriciahelfer: Pretaping day. Live taping tomorrow. Multicam jitters. Gonna be fun!
Some further information on the show, which is currently filming at Pinewood Toronto Studios in Canada, from The Internet Movie Database:
Spun Out is a multi-camera sitcom that stars Dave Foley, Paul Campbell, Darcy Michael, Al Mukadam, Holly Devo, Becky Dalton, and J.P. Manoux. Beckett Ryan (Paul Campbell), a struggling writer who ends up working at the public relations firm after suffering his own PR disaster. No matter how bizarre the cases are that the agency takes on, they pale in comparison to the workplace romances, rivalries, personal successes, and often hilarious failures of the close-knit and dysfunctional colleagues.
Paul Campbell, as you may remember, co-starred with Tricia on Battlestar Galactica as “Billy” until his exit in 2006.
As of yet, we don’t know whether this will be a one-off appearance or something else, nor in fact that she is with certainty appearing on the show, but… well, judge the information for yourself. ;) Either way, stay tuned for updates!

Lots of great new stuff on Killer Women from the ABC Network upfront presentation yesterday!
To begin with, we have a couple of great new promotional photos of Tricia Helfer as Molly Parker in our gallery, while the show itself now has an official site on ABC.com and an official Facebook-page (and, of course, Twitter account). Neither page has a lot of content as yet, but do still bookmark them for updates. :)
Here’s also the much-anticipated first trailer for the series. We needn’t encourage you to check it out. ;)
Marc Blucas, Michael Trucco, Alex Fernandez and Marta Milans also star.
Update 2: Well, ABC has unveiled their fall 2013 schedule… and, unfortunately, Killer Women is not on it, so looks like we’ll have to wait until midseason for this goodie to premiere. BUT — good things come to those who wait!
Update May 16: Trailer screen caps now in the gallery. :)
The results are in, and you guys… Killer Women is going to series!!!!
ABC has confirmed that they have picked up the drama pilot starring Tricia Helfer for the 2013-14 season earlier today. Michael Trucco, Marc Blucas, Alex Fernandez and Marta Milans also star.
We are absolutely stoked!! Congratulations, Tricia!!!
It’s hard to fit in when you’re the only woman in the notoriously male Texas Rangers, but that doesn’t stop Molly Parker (Tricia Helfer) — our ballsy, beautiful badass who knows how to get to the truth and isn’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers on her way there. Based on the Argentine series Mujeres Asesinas.
According to C/P, Tricia is currently in Toronto, Canada to film Christmas Share, a Christmas TV movie for The Hallmark Channel. The film has yet to get an IMDb page, so not a lot of information is available on it at the moment, but according to the OMDC website, the film will be directed by Harvey Crossland. Filming is scheduled to go on until May 24th.
More details as we find them! :)
Update May 14: According to the Twitter pages of Tricia and Lategan Media respectively, Canadian actor Mark Lutz (Angel, Flashpoint, Ghost Whisperer: The Other Side) and American country music singer JT Hodges also star in the film. Check out also a couple of photos from the set in our gallery, courtesy of Tricia.
Just in time for tonight’s premiere, we have some new promotional stills of Tricia Helfer as Kate Aldrich in the Lifetime thriller Dangerous Intuition. Don’t miss the movie tonight at 8 PM on Lifetime! David Cubitt, Estella Warren, Genea Charpentier and Dylan Neal also star.

Terrific interview with Tricia Helfer from TV Fanatic, in which Tricia talks about, among other things, working with David Cubitt and Genea Charpentier as well as her character Kate in the Lifetime movie Dangerous Intuition, and her exciting new role as Molly Parker in the newly picked up seriesKiller Women. Tricia Helfer Talks Lifetime Movie, Playing a Killer Woman on ABC
by Jim Halterman
It’s a good weekend for Tricia Helfer.
Her new Lifetime movie, Dangerous Intuition, premieres tonight and her pilot Killer Women — which she headlines as a Texas Ranger (that has Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara among its producers — was just ordered to series by ABC.
Helfer and I talked a few days before the Killer Women announcement, as she gave me a window into why she connected with the new role, while also touching on the challenges in Dangerous Intuition…
TV Fanatic: The character you play in Dangerous Intuition has more than a little bit of baggage and it’s interesting how it played out since we, the viewer, are not even sure what’s going on in her mind.
Tricia Helfer: In filming it, I knew the outcome and hopefully the audience won’t get it too quickly. We didn’t want to give away the ending too quickly and with the situation it walks the fine line of is she really having a mental breakdown or is she really having these premonitions?
TVF: What was the biggest challenge in the role?
TH: It’s really about finding the relationship with the actors and then trying to bring them onto the screen. David [Cubitt, who plays Kate's ex] was great to work with. He’s really a fun guy and the little girl, Genea [Charpentier], was a sweetheart and such a professional. I don’t think she complained once, working outside of Vancouver in December and it was very cold and rainy and I never heard her complain once. She was such a trooper.
TVF: You’ve been involved in some big concept shows like Battlestar Galactica and even Dark Blue was an intense cop drama. Where do you naturally fall in terms of the roles you want to play?
TH: That’s one of the reason I did this film is because it’s a character I don’t necessarily get to play very often. In Battlestar or Burn Notice or Dark Blue I played quite strong characters. Kate [in Dangerous Intuition] is strong in her own way but there’s also this vulnerability and she loses control of her life. That was a draw of mine and that’s the goal of most actors to do different things.
