“Don’t you see? Our children represent everything that the humans hate. With the resurrection gone, the thought that the Cylon race could survive through natural procreation… terrifies them.”
- Caprica Six, to Sharon “Athena” Agathon and Samuel. T Anders

I hope everyone was able to tune in to last Friday’s episode of Sci Fi’s space drama, Battlestar Galactica, on which Tricia stars as humanoid Cylon Number Six. Here’s our recap of episode 4.13 “The Oath”, please highlight to read:

Under the guise of a fire on the Galactica, Felix Gaeta and Vice President Tom Zarek, whose escape from prison Gaeta has secretly organized, begin executing their plan to take over the control of the fleet. An uprising breaks aboard the Galactica, and Admiral Adama and Saul Tigh are relieved of their posts by the mutinous Gaeta, for whom Adama vows a dishonorable death. The mutinous crew of the Galactica try to round up all Cylons onboard into the brig, but Saul Tigh as the only Cylon manages to escape with the help of Adama, aside from Galen Tyrol, who was never caught. Meanwhile, Lee Adama is barely saved from death by the sudden appearance of Kara “Starbuck” Thrace, and Lee, the Admiral, President Laura Roslin, Starbuck, Tigh, Tyrol and Dr. Gaius Baltar eventually all make it to the forgotten secondary storage airlock, where Baltar gets in touch with Gaeta and reminds him of their secret dating back to New Caprica. A visibly distraught Gaeta abruptly hangs up on him. Baltar and Roslin make an escape with a Raptor piloted by an Eight, and head for the Rebel Cylon Basestar, which Gaeta is willing to prevent by any means necessary. While Tyrol leads Starbuck and Lee to safety, Tigh and the Admiral stay behind to confront the marines heading their way in a last stand, in which Adama pronounces what an honor it has been to serve alongside his friend, Tigh. The episode ends in a flash grenade being thrown into the storage airlock.

What an awesome episode! This is the Battlestar Galactica I used to know and love, and personally, “The Oath” was probably the best episode of Season 4 yet! Unfortunately for us Tricia fans, Six once again only had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it stint in the episode, and despite spoiler website reports, Baltar’s Virtual Six did not appear in the episode. Darn it! Check out the medium-res screen captures of her appearance on the show at our gallery. As always, HD replacement captures will be added as soon as possible!

Don’t forget to tune in again next Friday, February 6 2009 for episode 4.14 “Blood on the Scales”, which airs at 10/9c on Sci Fi. As always, we’ll do our best to cover it!

You’re my idea, Michael.”
-Carla, upon Michael asking if she has any better ideas than his

I hope everyone had a chance to tune in to last night’s episode of USA Network’s spy series, Burn Notice, episode 2.11 “Hot Spot” in which Tricia Helfer guest stars as Carla, Michael’s mysterious handler. As always, here’s our episode recap, please highlight to read:

In attempting to discover the identity of the assassin trying to kill Michael and spoiling Carla’s carefully crafted operation, Michael is trying to play both sides by avoiding Carla’s inquiries about the progress of the investigation to buy himself some time. Michael believes the “enemy of my enemy could be my friend”, and thus that the assassin is the key to resolving his burn notice. Carla grows increasingly impatient with Michael’s vagueness, and implies a further delay in progress will put both of their lives at risk. Meanwhile, Michael and Fiona grow closer to one another as they help some youngsters rid themselves of a gang of car thieves out to get them.

Tricia was simply amazing as Carla; her looks featured in this episode were some of my favorite yet! Speaking of HD caps, check out the HD replacement captures for episode 2.10 “Do No Harm” at our gallery.

Burn Notice returns again next Thursday, February 5 2009 with episode 2.12 “Seek and Destroy”. “Look at that, Saul. You know what that is, really? That’s the future of the entire Cylon race.”
- Caprica Six, on her and Tigh’s unborn Cylon child

Hopefully everyone was able to tune in to last night’s episode of Sci Fi’s Battlestar Galactica, on which Tricia Helfer stars as humanoid Cylon Number Six. As always, here’s our episode recap, please highlight to read:

As Number Six and Saul Tigh get a first look at their unborn Cylon/Cylon child, the first of its kind, the permanently crippled Felix Gaeta becomes increasingly frustrated with the Cylon presence, and becomes a key element in Vice President Tom Zarek’s anti-Cylon movement. Zarek, dead against a proposed alliance with the Rebel Cylons, convinces The Quorum the Adama-Roslin administration is ineffective and a decision is made not to allow any Cylon board a ship without permission, just as the Cylons are beginning to make demands to be included in the fleet. A tylium ship mutinies and jumps away in protest of the pro-Cylon administration at the encouragement of Zarek, who is then arrested by Admiral Adama. Meanwhile, President Laura Roslin finally loses faith and refuses to undergo any more cancer treatments, much to the dismay of Admiral Adama, while Lee Adama inadvertently lets it slip to the press the Fifth Cylon is a she, implying that Saul Tigh has passed on the information of his wife Ellen Tigh being the fifth to the Adamas. Galen Tyrol rushes his son Nicholas to the hospital, and Doc Cottle is forced to reveal to him he is not the father. As Gaius Baltar delivers a hefty speech to his audience about how God has unjustly punished his children with the discovery of the inhabitable Earth, an upraw breaks among the listeners, and Baltar coolly watches as Tyrol and Hot Dog battle it out, when Hot Dog reveals to Tyrol that he is in fact the father of Cally’s child.

I hope everyone watched this week’s episode from start to finish, as the end sequence was particularly beautiful, I thought. Once again, however, Tricia got regrettably little onscreen time as Six, and is only seen in one of the episode’s opening scenes. Check out our 55 medium-res screen captures of her appearance at the gallery; as always, HD replacement captures will be added as soon as possible.

Don’t forget to tune in again next Friday, January 30 2009 to Battlestar Galactica episode 4.13 “The Oath”, which airs at 10/9c on Sci Fi. Check out the episode trailer on YouTube! Also, for our spoiler-friendly visitors, io9 has some tidbits on the upcoming episode, among other things promising a reappearance by Baltar’s Virtual Six! At last, y’all!

“Oh.Yes, your… side job. Say ‘hi’ to all the desperate little people for me, huh?”
- Carla, to Michael on his on-the-side cases

Hopefully everyone was able to tune in yesterday to the premiere of USA Network’s witty spy series, Burn Notice Season 2 post-hiatus episodes, on which Tricia Helfer regularly guest stars as Michael’s new handler, Carla. Here’s our episode recap, as always, please highlight to read:

Surviving the explosion, Michael is being continuously tracked by Carla’s thugs and is eventually taken in for questioning at an undisclosed location. Carla, visibly worried and angered about the recent turn of events, is just as in the dark as to who is behind Michael’s attempted assassination (not to mention the failure of Carla’s carefully planned operation) as Michael et al., and orders him to find out who it is. Meanwhile, Michael saves a desperate man from committing suicide, his last resort to get the necessary money for a treatment that could save his son, who is suffering from a terminal heart condition. The man, Kenny, becomes his client when he reveals he was scammed of the money by a fake doctor, convincing him his son was being given good medicine.

Tricia was once again great as Carla, though she got less onscreen time in this episode than I thought she would. Check out our 187 medium-res screen captures of her appearance on the show at our gallery; as always, hi-res replacement captures alongside video clips will be added as soon as possible. Don’t forget to tune in to Burn Notice episode 2.11 “Hot Spot” on January 29 2009 at 10/9c. Stay tuned for coverage!

Speaking of new episodes, don’t forget to check out Sci Fi’s Battlestar Galactica episode 4.12 “A Disquiet Follows My Soul” at 10/9c, which we will of course be covering. Also, check out our HD replacement captures of episode 4.11 at the gallery! Enjoy.

It’s been a while since we’ve had any magazine coverage on Tricia. However, that’s about to change as Tricia Helfer is currently featured in the Winter 2008-2009 issue of Genlux (US). On January 16 2009, Tricia Helfer and Battlestar Galactica co-stars Michael Hogan and Michael Trucco were in Pasadena, California to promote the ongoing Battlestar Galactica Charity Live Auction, in which all series props and costumes are auctioned off for various causes and charities. From the official press release:

As the SCI FI Channel’s original series Battlestar Galactica draws to a close, NBC Universal Television, DVD, Music and Consumer Products Group has teamed with Propworx to offer thousands of one-of-a-kind props, set pieces and costumes to the public in a series of live and online auctions, beginning on January 16, 2009 at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California. Some of the more spectacular items that will be available to bid on include full size ships, “Admiral William Adama’s” desk, a Cylon Raider and six to 12 costumes from each major character including Viper flight suits and “Caprica Six’s” red dress. A portion of the auction’s proceeds will benefit United Way.

Then, as previously announced, additional items will be made available for auction each week on eBay in conjunction with the airing of Battlestar Galactica and will feature items that appeared in that particular episode. The first of these auctions will take place on Friday, January 23, starting at 9:00 a.m. (ET), and will conclude the following Friday, January 30, starting at 9:00 p.m

Check out video clips of Tricia at the event on Access Hollywood and Entertainment Weekly respectively, or enjoy our first two medium-res photos of Tricia at the event at our gallery. You can also watch and/or bid on the auction at AuctionNetwork.com, streaming live coverage from the ongoing event and visit BattlestarProps.com for details on auction items.

I hope everyone was able to tune in to last Friday’s premiere of Sci Fi’s Battlestar Galactica‘s Season 4 post-hiatus episodes. What a ride! Here’s our brief recap of the episode, however please note that if you wish to remain unspoiled of this episode for whatever reason, you’ll want to skip the recap as some key details of the episode are revealed here. To those still interested, as always, please highlight to read:

While everyone is trying to come to terms with the findings on Earth, Kara “Starbuck” Thrace finds the remains of what once was her raptor, as well as a body which in all likelihood is her, prompting her to question her own identity. Upon discovering the raptor, Kara reveals to Cylon Number 2 “Leoben” how the basestar Hybrid had referred to her as the Harbinger of Death, and a visibly distraught Leoben begins to pull away from her, and in the quiet of night, Kara hides her findings. Meanwhile, the remains of battle on Earth reveal to the shock of all that the 13th Tribe was in fact Cylon, and the revealed Final Cylons experience memories of life on the planet, which was ravaged by a nuclear war more than 2000 years ago, making the Final Five age-old models. Laura Roslin loses her faith and burns the Pythian Prophecy, while Admiral Adama and Saul Tigh finally confront each other about what’s happened. As the fleet prepares to leave the planet, the only surviving Cylon Number Three “D’Anna” announces she will not join the others, but rather wishes to be left behind on Earth to die, for she sees no end to the war. Lieutenant Anastasia “Dee” Dualla, similarly devastated by the state of Earth, commits suicide on the Galactica soon after the discoveries on the planet. Shortly before departure from Earth, Tigh begins to recollect the eve of the attack on the planet, and his memories reveal the Final Cylon as his beloved wife Ellen Tigh, whom he poisoned to death as a just punishment for betraying the Resistance on New Caprica.

Pretty heavy stuff, no? While the episode itself was phenomenal, unfortunately Tricia only makes a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance as Cylon Number Six, and only some 20 medium-res screen captures of her performance in the episode have been added to the gallery. As always, stay tuned for HD replacement captures and video clips in coming days!

Don’t forget to tune in again next Friday, January 23 2009, for episode 4.12 “A Disquiet Follows My Soul”, for which a trailer is available on YouTube. I’m really looking forward to some more Tricia in this upcoming episode! As always, please check back with us for coverage.
