Screen Daily reports actor Harvey Keitel will be replacing Dennis Hopper in Jonathan Sobol’s A Beginner’s Guide to Endings, currently filming with Tricia Helfer et al. in Niagara Falls, NY. The casting update follows the earlier news that Hopper has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. From Screen Daily: Keitel will play Duke, the hard-living, gambling family patriarch. Paulo Costanzo and Jason Jones have also joined the cast as two of the sons. “This cast is beyond my wildest hopes for a first-time director,” Sobol said. “When I wrote the script I dreamt of actors of this calibre playing these roles but I don’t think I ever actually thought I’d have the opportunity to work with them.”
