Apologies for the lack of updates here lately; we’ve simply had nothing new to report on Tricia. We’ll be returning soon with some new clips, though, so please check back with us again some time later.

We do have some a small news update for you today. The people at AskMen.com as well as my good friend Filip @ Cameron Diaz Fan have alerted me to Tricia Helfer being featured in 70th place on AskMen.com’s annual list of Top 99 Most Desirable Women. According to the website, six million votes were cast over a period of six weeks, and in the results Tricia was able to beat such names as Eva Longoria, Blake Lively, Anna Paquin, Diane Kruger and Angelina Jolie.

As reported earlier, Tricia Helfer appeared as planned at yesterday’s 2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards, held in Los Angeles, CA. As promised, here’s our coverage of her appearance at the event.

As per usual, Tricia looked absolutely stunning(!!) at the event, this time in a peach strapless mini and updo. As most of you will know, Tricia was up for the VG Award for Best Performance by a Human Female for her portrayal of Dare in the Halo 3: ODST video game. She furthermore presented on her own a Halo: Reach teaser trailer at the event. Unfortunately, the winning act in the Human Female category turned out to be Megan Fox in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Bummer.

The 2009 Spike TV VG Awards will air live tomorrow, December 12 from Los Angeles, CA via Spike TV. Tricia is a confirmed guest for tomorrow’s event, so don’t forget to check back with us for coverage of her appearance at the event!

Some three weeks ago, we speculated Tricia Helfer could be attending the 2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards due to her recent portrayal of Dare in the Halo 3: ODST video game, for which Tricia is nominated for Best Performance by a Human Female at the awards. Well, our speculations have today been confirmed by this Spike TV press release via PRNewswire, asserting Tricia is indeed expected to attend the event:

Megastars from the worlds of video games, Hollywood, music, sports and more will gather to pay tribute to the outstanding achievements within the video game industry during the past year at Spike TV’s 7th Annual Video Game Awards 2009. Broadcasting in over 180 territories and countries, the VGAs will be a global celebration of all things gaming as it premieres LIVE on Spike TV Saturday, December 12 at 8:00 PM, ET (tape delay west coast).

Also scheduled to appear at the VGAs are Kristen Bell, Felicia Day, Green Day, Tony Hawk, Tricia Helfer, Forrest Griffin, Alyssa Milano, Zachary Quinto, Mike Tyson, Olivia Wilde and the stars of Spike TV’s forthcoming original comedy series “Blue Mountain State” – Alan Ritchson, Darin Brooks and Chris Romano. Additional guest appearances will be announced shortly.

Fans will be able to vote for Tricia at the VGAs via the Spike TV VGA website until December 11. Don’t forget to tune in for the live broadcast via Spike TV December 12! We’ll of course be sure to cover Tricia’s appearance at the event, so do check back with us for further updates this weekend.

Although Tricia attending the awards show remains at this point unconfirmed, some will here recall her May 2009(!) appearance on the GameTrailers TV E3 ‘09 First Look Special, where she said to “hope” to be able to attend the event. Sys-Con.com reports this year’s Spike TV Scream Awards will feature a Battlestar Galactica cast reunion as part of a farewell tribute to the series, which is also nominated for Scream Awards in several categories. Tricia Helfer is expected to attend alongside co-stars Edward James Olmos, Katee Sackhoff, Grace Park, James Callis, Kate Vernon, Michael Trucco and Tahmoh Penikett as well as executive producer David Eick. Tricia never disappoints! Last Saturday, August 1 2009, Tricia Helfer attended the 25th Annual Television Critics Association Awards in Pasadena, CA alongside fellow Battlestar Galactica cast members Grace Park and Katee Sackhoff. Tricia was looking absolutely amazing in a strapless cocktail dress — one of my favorite looks by her yet! Check out the first 17 medium- and hi-res photos of her at the event at our gallery.

The Battlestar Galactica series received the TCA Program of the Year Award at the ceremony. A well-deserved award for a fantastic concluding season! Congratulations, Team BSG!

Yesterday, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominees for the 2009 Emmy Awards, and Syfy’s critically acclaimed series Battlestar Galactica is nominated in six categories! Unfortunately, however, and to our great disappointment, Tricia Helfer was not nominated for her (brilliant!) portrayal of Cylon Number Six — nor, in fact, were any other Battlestar Galactica cast members for their respective performances on the show.
