Some small, but exciting event news and goodies today!
To begin with, according to Tricia Helfer’s official site, Tricia will be attending the 3rd Annual Fur Ball at the Skirball Kitten Rescue fundraiser Saturday, September 11 2010 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, CA. The event will once again be hosted by The Office-star Jenna Fischer. Tickets are $125 apiece ($1250 for an Angel Table with seating for 10); details and ticket purchases are available via KittenRescue.org. Be sure to book your seat, if you’re able to attend. It’s for a good cause, after all, and you’ll of course have a chance to meet Tricia in person!
Speaking of events and good causes, a couple of days ago on July 15, Tricia attended the BTC and Artists & Athletes Alliance-hosted Evening with Philippe Cousteau in Beverly Hills, CA, a briefing on the ongoing BP oil spill catastrophe on the Gulf Coast. Battlestar Galactica’s Edward James Olmos was also among the attendants. According to Tricia’s official site, she and Battlestar Galactica co-star Katee Sackhoff are working on an oil spill fundraiser; additional details should be coming soon. If you’re interested in the Cousteau event and want to learn more about the subject, there’s a great and informative report on it at ServiceNation.org.
We’ve also updated the gallery with a first photo from the Rodeo Drive Vintage Car & Bike Show from June 21 as well as a new motorcycle-themed photoshoot, with best friend Katee.

Check out this first trailer from the Internet Movie Database for writer-director Jonathan Sobol’s feature film debut, A Beginner’s Guide to Endings, in which Tricia Helfer stars opposite Harvey Keitel, Scott Caan, J.K. Simmons and Paulo Costanzo. Although the trailer focuses mainly on the key characters, Tricia is featured in a couple of shots — the first look we’ve had at her in her as-of-yet untitled role.
Unfortunately, the video can’t be embedded here at this point, so please head over to the Internet Movie Database to watch it. A couple of screen captures of Tricia’s shots have also been uploaded to the gallery — big thanks to Roberta @ Kate Winslet Fan for her help with these.

In related news, another one of Tricia’s upcoming films, Phase One, which was announced as far back as in November 2009, has at last gotten an Internet Movie Database-page. Although the page doesn’t provide us with a lot of information that we didn’t already know, Tricia’s character does now have a name – “Dr. Wilcox”.
Neither film has yet to our knowledge an exact release date.

Just a quick heads-up that there’s finally an exact date for the previously reported Tribeca Film Festival screening for Andrew Paquin’s thriller Open House, in which Tricia Helfer stars as Lila opposite Brian Geraghty.
According to the Tribeca Film Festival website, the premiere screening is this Saturday, April 24 at 9 PM at the Clearview Chelsea Cinema in New York, with three additional screenings on Sunday, Monday as well as Friday, April 30, respectively. For details and (rush) tickets, please visit www.tribecafilm.com. At this point, we don’t know whether or not Tricia is expected to attend.
First complete synopsis from the Tribeca Film Festival website:
Suddenly single Alice is ready to sell her vacant love nest and move on with her life. But the open house she hosts draws unforeseen interest from a pair of psychopathic house hunters. After invading her home and dispatching her houseguest, prim and taciturn intruder David inexplicably keeps Alice alive, hidden away in the basement crawlspace of her own home as he and his sexually predatory partner Lila move in upstairs. From there, Alice becomes privy to the perverse relationship between her captors. She realizes David has kept her existence a secret, a small act of rebellion against his oppressive but inextricable bond with Lila. As David’s relationship with his secret prisoner grows stronger, his twisted partnership with Lila begins to crack.
Andrew Paquin’s debut feature is a spine-tingling psychological thriller, a typical love triangle where two of the parties just happen to be codependent psychopaths. Alice’s cold, sterile house becomes the perfect setting for this tense tale of domestic horror. As Alice adapts to the duo’s mind games in order to stay alive, she begins to realize that the claustrophobia and torment of a basement crawlspace may be nothing compared to that of a bad relationship.
