Supported Causes & Charities
Aside from her onscreen and modeling work, Tricia is also an avid animal rights supporter and environmentalist. Please visit some of the below websites for more information on Tricia's supported causes and charities.
Tricia Helfer Fan (tricia-helfer.org) is an unofficial, non-profit fan-driven website dedicated to actress Tricia Helfer. We are in no way in contact or affiliated with Ms. Helfer or her management, nor do we claim such affiliation. This website was created for entertainment purposes only. Tricia Helfer Fan is proudly stalkerazzi-free.
Part Deux! Tricia Helfer is auctioning offanother two tickets to Tricia’s table at this year’s Fur Ball at the Skirball Kitten Rescue Fundraiser via eBay! Needless to say, this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to meet and talk to Tricia. The starting bid is again at $200 and you have until September 3 to place yours; that’s in a little less than three days from now (i.e. today’s update). All proceeds from the auction will go to the Los Angeles-based animal shelter, Kitten Rescue.
The 3rd Annual Fur Ball at the Skirball will take place September 11 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, California. This year’s event will once again be hosted by The Office-star Jenna Fischer. Please do not hesitate to place a bid on the tickets if you think you’ll be able to attend, and support a most worthy cause at the same time!
Just a quick heads-up that Jonathan Sobol’s directorial debut, the indie dramedy A Beginner’s Guide to Endings, which we reported a while back would premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this September, now has a more exact premiere date: September 17.
More precisely, Endings will premiere September 17 at 6:30 PM at the Roy Thomson Hall. At this point, we don’t know whether or not Tricia Helfer, as one of the film’s stars, is planning to attend, but although the TIFF website does not list Tricia as an “expected guest” (unlike e.g. director Sobol and co-star Harvey Keitel), the Sep 17 premiere is listed as a “Premium Screening” on the TIFF website, likely meaning it will be a star event. And if this of Tricia’s tweets via her Twitter account @trutriciahelfer is anything to go by…
Unless Tricia confirms her attendance intentions explicitly via her various official outlets, we can’t say for sure she will be there, but keep your eyes peeled for pictures around September 17 anyway. After all, it is the film’s world premiere in her homeland of Canada… Fingers crossed!
Another fresh appearance! Check out these first photos of Tricia Helfer at yesterday’s8th Annual BAFTA/LA TV Tea Party in Century City, California. Tricia looked simply stunning at the event in a gorgeous yellow cocktail dress and belt. The gallery has been updated with our first 43 medium- and hi-res photos of her tea party appearance; as always, more will be added if and when we find them.

A Beginner’s Guide to Endings Jonathan Sobol, Canada
World Premiere
Raucous, charming and very funny, Jonathan Sobol’s comedy A Beginners Guide to Endings follows three sons as they deal with their gambler father’s somewhat complicated legacy. Featuring the legendary Harvey Keitel, the film also stars Scott Caan, Paolo Costanzo, Wendy Crewson, Tricia Helfer, Jason Jones, and J.K. Simmons.
Additional details (such as exact dates) remain TBA. Hopefully this means we’ll be seeing Tricia at this year’s TIFF!
“Okay. One layer. Two layers. Three layers. Four layers. Five layers. Six layers. My tights, too. See what it takes to ride up the coast?… In the summer.”
- Tricia Helfer
According to Katee Sackhoff’s official site, Battlestar Galactica co-stars and best friends Katee and Tricia Helfer will be launching their own charity organization, Acting Outlaws. So far, no specifics on the advocated cause(s) have been announced, but be sure to bookmark www.actingoutlaws.org and the Acting Outlaws Twitter and Facebook pages for further updates. From KateeSackhoff.com:
Make sure you check out Katee and Tricia’s charity organization they themselves have started called Acting Outlaws. Life Ride is just the first of many benefits Katee and Tricia are planning on attending, all in addition to their own charity events they have planned for the future.
Speaking of charities, Tricia was also photographed in San Francisco, CA last Friday on the last stop of Kiehl’s 2010 LifeRide benefiting amfAR, the foundation for AIDS research. The HKL Films website has a very interesting blog report from their day with Tricia and Katee in SF; according to their calculations, the premiere LifeRide raised a whopping total of $85,000 for amfAR! That’s fantastic!
Check out these first pictures of Tricia Helfer attending the Kiehl’s LifeRide for amfAR inaugural charity bike ride in Santa Monica, California yesterday afternoon. Although Tricia herself owns a Harley-Davidson 2009 Rocker C, for this event she got to try out a new BMW motorcycle. Together with best friend and Battlestar Galactica co-star Katee Sackhoff and a bunch of other celebrity attendees, Kiehl’s, Tricia & co. raised both money and awareness to amfAR, the foundation for AIDS research.
Get your motor runnin’, Kiehl’s fans. The socially-conscious company, along with a brigade of entertainment types, took to California’s coastal roads by motorcycle on Tuesday to raise both funds and awareness for the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Kiehl’s LifeRide for AmfAR, a six-day philanthropic trek up the scenic coast of the Golden State, roared up to the brand’s Santa Monica store located on uber-trendy Montana Avenue to celebrate their inaugural journey with a kick-off party.
The ride drew participation from a wide array of high-profile motorcycle aficionados from film legend Peter Fonda to Queens of the Stone Age rocker Josh Homme to Battlestar Galactica hotties Tricia Helfer and Katee Sackhoff. [...] Helfer, who became an avid motorcycle rider three years ago, is thrilled to combine one of her favorite pastimes with such a worthy organization.
“I got invited to join the ride and I was very excited about it,” the actress told StyleList. “I’ve been very vocal about being a motorbike rider and it just seemed like such a wonderful opportunity to ride up the coast to benefit such a great cause. Kiehl’s is doing so much to try to raise not only money, but also raise awareness for it.”
While Helfer admitted to us that she was a self-proclaimed tomboy growing up, we still had to know how a girl, especially an actress, keeps up her beauty routine while out on the open road. “When you’re doing a ride the key is sunscreen,” she says. “You really just pare down. It’s just about cleansing your skin at night when you get back since you’re among cars and the exhaust. When you’re on the open road it’s better, but you still get dirty. So you want to clean your face at night. Normally when I’m riding I don’t wear any makeup at all.”
Some small, but exciting event news and goodies today!
To begin with, according to Tricia Helfer’s official site, Tricia will be attending the 3rd Annual Fur Ball at the SkirballKitten Rescue fundraiser Saturday, September 11 2010 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, CA. The event will once again be hosted by The Office-star Jenna Fischer. Tickets are $125 apiece ($1250 for an Angel Table with seating for 10); details and ticket purchases are available via KittenRescue.org. Be sure to book your seat, if you’re able to attend. It’s for a good cause, after all, and you’ll of course have a chance to meet Tricia in person!
Speaking of events and good causes, a couple of days ago on July 15, Tricia attended the BTC and Artists & Athletes Alliance-hosted Evening with Philippe Cousteau in Beverly Hills, CA, a briefing on the ongoing BP oil spill catastrophe on the Gulf Coast. Battlestar Galactica’s Edward James Olmos was also among the attendants. According to Tricia’s official site, she and Battlestar Galactica co-star Katee Sackhoff are working on an oil spill fundraiser; additional details should be coming soon. If you’re interested in the Cousteau event and want to learn more about the subject, there’s a great and informative report on it at ServiceNation.org.
