More from December’s Kitten Rescue Fur Ball at the Skirball fundraiser

In the absence of fresher news, we instead have a lovely little update on last December’s 2nd Annual Fur Ball at the Skirball Kitten Rescue Fundraiser, which Tricia Helfer attended alongside husband Jonathan Marshall. The event was hosted by The Office-actress Jenna Fischer, and was also attended by Tricia’s Battlestar Galactica co-stars Tahmoh Penikett and Katee Sackhoff.

We’ve updated the gallery with 7 medium-res photos of Tricia and Jonathan at the event, courtesy of the Kitten Rescue Flickr photo stream. These are the first photos we’ve had from inside the event venue (and of Jonathan at the event), and particularly nice since there has been only a handful of photos available to us from this event to begin with. The pictures furthermore reveal that Tricia and Jonathan purchased the $1,250 “Angel Table” for the event.

‘Open House’ to screen at 9th Annual Tribeca Film Festival

At last, some news, and some great news at that! TrueBlood-Online.com reports the upcoming Andrew Paquin-directed horror thriller Open House, in which Tricia Helfer stars as Lila opposite Rachel Blanchard and Brian Geraghty, will be screening at the 9th Annual Tribeca Film Festival in New York. This year’s festival runs April 21-May 2. Report from TrueBlood-Online.com:

The film Open House, has been accepted to the ninth annual Tribeca Film Festival which will take place in New York City from April 21 to May 2, 2010.

As we have previously reported, Open House is a film starring Tricia Helfer, Rachel Blanchard and Brian Geraghty and is Andrew Paquin’s directorial debut. True Blood’s Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin (Andrew is Anna’s brother) will make a cameo appearance playing the characters Jennie and Josh. The horror/thriller movie, shot in Los Angeles, tells the story of a wealthy couple in a strained marriage that hosts an open house in order to sell their palatial home. They are horrified to find out days later that one potential buyer never left their house.

As of yet, we don’t know whether or not Tricia is planning to attend the event, but we should be no means rule out the possibility of her doing so. We’ll be sure to post more information on the film, its festival screening and ticket sales as it becomes available to us. This is good news, though; hopefully this means we’ll soon get a first look of some kind of Tricia in the film!

Tricia at ‘24′ New Season Celebration hosted by Katee Sackhoff

Surprise! Yesterday, January 16 Tricia Helfer made her first appearance of the year by showing up to support best friend and Battlestar Galactica co-star Katee Sackhoff as she hosted the ‘24′ New Season Celebration in Las Vegas, NV. Tricia and Katee both looked nothing short of gorgeous at the event in their sparkly, sequined cocktail dresses. The gallery has been updated with our first 19 30 medium-res photos of Tricia (and Katee) at the event. As always, we’ll be adding more photos as we find them. Enjoy!

250 medium- and hi-res public appearance photos 2005-09

We’re back! And we come bringing some new goodies as well. Today (and throughout this Fall), we’ve updated the gallery with 250+ new medium- and hi-res photos of Tricia Helfer at various public events 2005-2009 + replaced some 50-60 small images with better quality ones. Since this is quite a mix of new and updated photos/albums, we’ve listed all updated albums below using the following labeling:

(N) – new additions; (R) – better quality replacements; (NA) – new album

If I could make a suggestion or ~~two~~ three, I’d particularly advise you to check out the fantastic hi-res additions we made to our 2009 Monte Carlo Television Festival Day 5-album, which now features some absolutely adorable(!) photos of Tricia and hubby Jonathan Marshall at the event. Also, the ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Mid-Season Finale Celebration-album from June 2008, featuring some really awesome footage of Tricia and BSG co-stars Katee Sackhoff and Mary McDonnell, has been updated with a ton of better quality replacements to those earlier minimal pics — highly recommend you have a look. Finally, there’s this, this and many other great new photos of the BSG team at last year’s Sci Fi Channel Upfront Party.

But really, those are just the highlights. There are a lot more gems among the rest of the new photos as well. Anyway, without further ado, enjoy!

Since we didn’t want to crowd our original Video Game Awards update with videos, here’s a separate update of online video clips of Tricia Helfer at last Saturday’s 2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards, from which we’ve also been uploading new pictures throughout the weekend. We’ll be updating this post with more clips from this event if and when we find them.

As most of you will know, Tricia was not only nominated for the VG award for Best Performance by a Human Female for her portrayal of Dare in the Halo 3: ODST video game, she also presented at the event a teaser trailer for the upcoming Halo: Reach VG. Unfortunately, Tricia lost the VG award to actress Megan Fox for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards coverage

As reported earlier, Tricia Helfer appeared as planned at yesterday’s 2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards, held in Los Angeles, CA. As promised, here’s our coverage of her appearance at the event.

As per usual, Tricia looked absolutely stunning(!!) at the event, this time in a peach strapless mini and updo. As most of you will know, Tricia was up for the VG Award for Best Performance by a Human Female for her portrayal of Dare in the Halo 3: ODST video game. She furthermore presented on her own a Halo: Reach teaser trailer at the event. Unfortunately, the winning act in the Human Female category turned out to be Megan Fox in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Bummer.

Don’t forget today is your last chance to vote for Tricia Helfer at the 2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards! Tricia is nominated for Best Performance by a Human Female for her portrayal of Dare in the Halo 3: ODST video game. Voting on the Spike TV VGA website will close today — go vote for Tricia while you still can!

Tricia to appear at 2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards

Some three weeks ago, we speculated Tricia Helfer could be attending the 2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards due to her recent portrayal of Dare in the Halo 3: ODST video game, for which Tricia is nominated for Best Performance by a Human Female at the awards. Well, our speculations have today been confirmed by this Spike TV press release via PRNewswire, asserting Tricia is indeed expected to attend the event:

Megastars from the worlds of video games, Hollywood, music, sports and more will gather to pay tribute to the outstanding achievements within the video game industry during the past year at Spike TV’s 7th Annual Video Game Awards 2009. Broadcasting in over 180 territories and countries, the VGAs will be a global celebration of all things gaming as it premieres LIVE on Spike TV Saturday, December 12 at 8:00 PM, ET (tape delay west coast).

Also scheduled to appear at the VGAs are Kristen Bell, Felicia Day, Green Day, Tony Hawk, Tricia Helfer, Forrest Griffin, Alyssa Milano, Zachary Quinto, Mike Tyson, Olivia Wilde and the stars of Spike TV’s forthcoming original comedy series “Blue Mountain State” – Alan Ritchson, Darin Brooks and Chris Romano. Additional guest appearances will be announced shortly.

Fans will be able to vote for Tricia at the VGAs via the Spike TV VGA website until December 11. Don’t forget to tune in for the live broadcast via Spike TV December 12! We’ll of course be sure to cover Tricia’s appearance at the event, so do check back with us for further updates this weekend.

As reported earlier, Tricia Helfer was indeed present at the Saturday, December 5 2nd Annual “Fur Ball at the Skirball” Kitten Rescue Fundraiser in Los Angeles, CA, where fellow Battlestar Galactica stars Katee Sackhoff and Tahmoh Penikett also appeared to show their support.
