As reported earlier, Tricia Helfer appeared as planned at yesterday’s 2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards, held in Los Angeles, CA. As promised, here’s our coverage of her appearance at the event.
As per usual, Tricia looked absolutely stunning(!!) at the event, this time in a peach strapless mini and updo. As most of you will know, Tricia was up for the VG Award for Best Performance by a Human Female for her portrayal of Dare in the Halo 3: ODST video game. She furthermore presented on her own a Halo: Reach teaser trailer at the event. Unfortunately, the winning act in the Human Female category turned out to be Megan Fox in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Bummer.
Onto our gallery update. We’ve just uploaded to our gallery our first 57 medium- and hi-res photos of a lovely Tricia at the event. As always, we’ll be sure to add more medium- and hi-res pictures as well as video footage from the event as we find them. Be sure to check back with us for updates!

RTTNews reports Tricia Helfer is among the star-studded vocal talent for EA Games’ upcoming Mass Effect 2 video game. According to a press release published on the site, Tricia will be voicing Normandy Virtual Intelligence, and is joined in working on the game by Martin Sheen, Seth Green, Carrie-Ann Moss as well as Tricia’s Battlestar Galactica co-star Michael “Tigh” Hogan, to name a few. From RTTNews:
Esteemed actor Martin Sheen stars as the mysterious Illusive Man who commands Cerberus, a secretive paramilitary organization dedicated to protecting human interests in the galaxy. Yvonne Strahovski plays deadly Cerberus operative Miranda Lawson, who has been genetically engineered for superior mental and physical traits. Returning to the cast from the original Mass Effect is Seth Green as Joker and Keith David as Admiral David Anderson. And rounding out the vocal roster are Tricia Helfer as EDI, the voice of the new Normandy; Carrie-Anne Moss as Aria T’Loak, the crime lord who rules the planet Omega; Shohreh Aghdashloo as Admiral Shala’Raan vas Tonbay; Michael Hogan as Captain Bailey; Adam Baldwin as Kal ‘Reegar; and Michael Dorn as Gatatog Uvenk.
The Mass Effect trilogy is an emotionally charged science fiction adventure set in a vast universe filled with dangerous alien life and mysterious, uncharted planets. In Mass Effect 2, players will once again step into the role of the heroic Commander Shepard, commanding their crew of some of the most dangerous operatives from across the galaxy on a mission so challenging that it’s potentially suicidal. Featuring intense shooter action, a rich futuristic storyline, space exploration and emotionally engaging character interaction, the game delivers an unparalleled cinematic experience.
According to the source, Mass Effect 2 will be made available on the Xbox 360 and PC January 26 and January 29 2010 in North America and Europe respectively.

Some three weeks ago, we speculated Tricia Helfer could be attending the 2009 Spike TV Video Game Awards due to her recent portrayal of Dare in the Halo 3: ODST video game, for which Tricia is nominated for Best Performance by a Human Female at the awards. Well, our speculations have today been confirmed by this Spike TV press release via PRNewswire, asserting Tricia is indeed expected to attend the event:
Megastars from the worlds of video games, Hollywood, music, sports and more will gather to pay tribute to the outstanding achievements within the video game industry during the past year at Spike TV’s 7th Annual Video Game Awards 2009. Broadcasting in over 180 territories and countries, the VGAs will be a global celebration of all things gaming as it premieres LIVE on Spike TV Saturday, December 12 at 8:00 PM, ET (tape delay west coast).
Also scheduled to appear at the VGAs are Kristen Bell, Felicia Day, Green Day, Tony Hawk, Tricia Helfer, Forrest Griffin, Alyssa Milano, Zachary Quinto, Mike Tyson, Olivia Wilde and the stars of Spike TV’s forthcoming original comedy series “Blue Mountain State” – Alan Ritchson, Darin Brooks and Chris Romano. Additional guest appearances will be announced shortly.
Fans will be able to vote for Tricia at the VGAs via the Spike TV VGA website until December 11. Don’t forget to tune in for the live broadcast via Spike TV December 12! We’ll of course be sure to cover Tricia’s appearance at the event, so do check back with us for further updates this weekend.

As you may have noticed, there hasn’t been much on Tricia to report of late, hence the lack of updates. Hopefully, things will pick up soon with the upcoming Fall 2009 release of Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica: The Plan, so do check back with us for updates.
Today, however, I have a small update for you, as I was recently sent some great hi-res promotional photos of Tricia Helfer as Nod General Kilian Qatar in the 2007 Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars video game. Enjoy!

More video game voice work for Tricia! Tricia Helfer made a surprise appearance at this weekend’s BlizzCon 2009 ‘StarCraft II Lore’ Panel in Anaheim, California, where it was announced she would be donning her voice to character Sarah Kerrigan/the Queen of Blades. Congrats on the new project, Tricia!
While we’ve yet to find video footage of Tricia’s panel appearance and only a handful of medium-res photos, some gaming websites were able to follow the event live, and have posted coverage from the panel. Below are some relevant panel discussion excerpts from GameSpot:
[2:42] After replacing the original Kerrigan, a move that caused some measure of uproar on the forums, Metzen introduces Tricia Helfer, best known as Six on Battlestar Galactica.
[3:04] Metzen now moves to Tricia Helfer, the new Kerrigan. Metzen asks if there are any Battlestar Galactica fans in the room, and the crowd goes absolutely nuts.
[3:04] Helfer says that it’s very intimidating to come into a game that you don’t really know the history of. “I’m kind of a video game virgin in terms of playing.”
[3:04] “Frogger was the last game I played, and that was in the 80s.”
[3:06] She says her experience on Battlestar has helped with the role of Kerrigan, as well as “voicing more than that character for the game.” She will also be voicing the Queen of Blades, as they stem from the same person.
[3:06] She says that it was interesting trying to bring in the character of Kerrigan into the voice of Queen of Blades, who is apparently fun to play due to her diabolical nature.
[3:07] She says that her role will be fairly light in the first installment in the game. “Cut to next year, and I’ll have a lot more to say.”
[3:08] A lot of the scenes Helfer will be doing in the first game will be delivered as flashbacks from the original Starcraft storyline.
[3:20] Helfer says that taking acting lessons really helps in this process, as it really teaches you the prep work involved. As she is newer at voice work, she finds that she has to visualize the character more so than when she herself is in front of a camera.
[3:29] Next question: Is the cast on stage all signed for all three games?
[3:29] The actors appear to be keen on returning.
[3:29] Helfer chimes in, “I know you don’t, I know you don’t,” to which Metzen replies, “Yeah, I’m going to leave it at that.”
