“This is kind of a drag, I can’t seem to hide anything from you.”
- Naomi

Hope y’all were able to tune in last Monday to Tricia Helfer appearing on FOX’s acclaimed psychological drama Lie to Me, starring Tim Roth and Kelli Williams. Tricia guest starred as Naomi in this week’s episode 3.04 “Double Blind”. Our recap as follows, please highlight to read:

When Dr. Cal Lightman (Roth) and his team begin to investigate a museum robbery gone bust, he unexpectedly makes a new acquaintance in a hospital waiting room. The mysterious Naomi pleads for Lightman’s help against her violent ex-boyfriend, and while the team is trying to find out which item the robbers were, and still are, interested in, Cal plays footsie with Naomi in his own home. It soon turns out that Naomi may not be who she says she is, and new questions regarding her and her involvement in the museum heist begin to arise as the two start playing one another. But how far do Naomi and Cal have each other figured?

It was very interesting to see Tricia in a new kind of role as Naomi, when she lately has played more the strong, tough female than the vulnerable woman, and unlike with some of her previous guest roles, had more to say this time than just meaningless dialogue. Definitely one of best TV guest appearances to date, especially character-wise. If you missed the episode, try catching a rerun!

Media-wise, we’ve updated the gallery with 404 720p HD screen captures of Tricia’s appearance on the show, while 11 site-exclusive video clips have been uploaded to the media archive. Hope you enjoy!

All clips are in .MOV format, which is playable in e.g. QuickTime and VLC. Please remember that although our gallery is open to everyone, access to the video section of our media archive requires user registration and/or logging in. Thank you.

Great news! According to BlogCritics.org, the Season 3 premiere of FOX’s critically acclaimed drama Lie to Me has been moved up to tomorrow, October 4 from its original November 10 airdate. Tricia Helfer will be guest starring on the show as Naomi in an as-of-yet unspecified S3 episode. Here’s what the show’s star Tim Roth had to say about his experience working with Tricia:

Asked if any upcoming episodes stand out for him, the actor said, “We did a really interesting and fun Thomas Crown Affair thing with Tricia Helfer, which I really enjoyed. She was a complete surprise to me. I didn’t know who she was because I don’t watch television very much. But she was terrific.”

Hopefully, some episode specifics will surface online soon. In the mean time, be sure to tune in to the show and keep your eyes peeled for Tricia!

Update: Right now, if FoxFlash.com’s primetime listings are anything to go by, it looks like Tricia will not be appearing in at least the first three episodes of the new season. Beyond 3.03, we don’t know, however.

Tribute.ca has a fantastic, great quality video clip of Tricia Helfer at yesterday’s Toronto International Film Festival A Beginner’s Guide to Endings Press Junket in Canada, where Tricia answered a lot of questions regarding the film, her supporting role of Miranda, her co-stars and working with them, and also touched on Battlestar Galactica, Dark Blue, Lie to Me, Two and a Half Men, Phase One (very fleetingly) and Open House. The video unfortunately can’t be embedded here at this point, so please head over to Tribute.ca via the below screen cap to watch it:

Speaking of screen caps, since actual pics from the junket have really been nowhere to be found so far, except for this tweeted picture from Tricia herself, we’ve instead made a batch of pretty sharp-quality Tricia captures of the aforementioned video. As you can see, Tricia looked nothing short of divine at the event in a navy blue, satin one-shoulder David Meister cocktail dress and Swarovksi earrings. Be sure to check out the pics!

According to the source, Tricia will appear in an as-of-yet unspecified Season 3 episode as Naomi, a mysterious woman with an attraction for Roth’s Dr. Cal Lightman. More via TVGuide.com:

Battlestar Galactica alum Tricia Helfer will guest-star on a Season 3 episode of Lie to Me, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Helfer will play Naomi, who’s attracted to Lightman (Tim Roth) despite being frustrated by the inability to hide anything from him. But when she calls on Lightman for protection from a violent ex-boyfriend, it’s Lightman who begins to wonder if her beauty has impaired his lie-detecting skills.

Helfer joins a slate of Lie to Me Season 3 guest-stars that includes Breaking Bad‘s Anna Gunn and Shoshannah Stern. The airdate for Helfer’s episode hasn’t been scheduled.

The third season of Lie to Me is currently set to premiere November 10 2010. As always, we’ll keep you posted on any and all developments regarding Tricia’s involvement in the series.

This sounds altogether brilliant. Congratulations on another kickass project, Tricia!
