Don’t forget Tricia Helfer will be in Atlanta, Georgia next week for the 2011 Dragon*Con!

Fans at Dragon*Con, running September 2-5, are in for a real treat this year’s as Battlestar Galactica‘s Aaron Douglas, Richard Hatch, Michael Hogan, Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Tahmoh Penikett and Mark A. Sheppard are also all confirmed guests at the event. Also going are Adam Baldwin, Julie Benz and Eddie McClintock, whom you’ll recall from Tricia’s guest appearances on Chuck, No Ordinary Family and Warehouse 13 respectively. Details and tix at www.dragoncon.org.

Although Tricia is currently in Toronto, Canada filming The Firm, the Dragon*Con website has nothing on any cancellation of her appearance, so presumably she’s still planning to attend despite her present commitment in Toronto.

Update Aug 30: Tricia has confirmed on Twitter that she IS going to Dragon*Con.

Hope y’all were able to tune in last night to Tricia Helfer guest starring as Sophie on ABC’s new family dramedy No Ordinary Family, starring Michael Chiklis, Julie Benz and Romany Malco. As always, here’s our coverage of Tricia’s appearance on the show, beginning with the ABC episode overview of 1.17 “No Ordinary Love”:

The mysterious Mrs. X (Lucy Lawless) tasks the sexy — and dangerous — Sophie to cause Jim (Chiklis) and George (Malco) to fall under her spell and make them do whatever she wants them to — which could place Jim’s marriage in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Stephanie (Benz) must decide whether or not to inject a patient with the trilsettum serum and risk turning him into a super in order to retain Dr. King’s trust, and Daphne’s boyfriend, Chris, begins to have suspicions about the Powell family’s abilities.

What did you think of Tricia’s appearance on the show? Personally, it’s not my favorite show Tricia has guest starred on, but after a bit of a wooden start I think everyone got going rather well. But although Tricia and Michael Chiklis did particularly well here, I think the episode just had too big of a story to tell in one episode and had to cut corners in terms of logic. I also wish TV execs would give Tricia a chance to appear in grittier roles; although she does the seductress well, she has the chops for so much more. Still, really nice to see her doing something new again!

A press release from ABC regarding Tricia Helfer’s upcoming guest episode on No Ordinary Family, starring Michael Chiklis and Julie Benz. The press release not only confirms Tricia’s guest episode on the show as episode 1.17 “No Ordinary Love” slated for March 1, but also gives her character a name, Sophie. The episode will also (hopefully) unite Tricia with her Battlestar Galactica co-star Lucy Lawless (i.e. BSG‘s D’Anna or “Number Three”), also guesting on the show in a five-episode arc — definitely a must-see!

A small update on ABC’s No Ordinary Family via Tricia Helfer’s official Twitter account @trutriciahelfer. Tricia is currently filming her upcoming guest episode on the show (likely episode 1.17 “No Ordinary Love” set for March 1), and has been diligently tweeting both updates and photos from the set.

According to Tricia Helfer herself via her official Twitter account @trutriciahelfer, Tricia will soon be filming a guest role for ABC’s new one-hour Sci-Fi dramedy No Ordinary Family.

No Ordinary Family revolves around the Powells who are pretty much your average, everyday American family. That is until their plane crashes in the Amazon jungle. After that, well, let’s just say the Powells are a little less ordinary.

The above tweets being the first announcement of any kind regarding Tricia’s involvement in the show, there are naturally no additional details to be had yet. However, with Tricia evidently filming her episode in the near or immediate future, we’re pretty she’s set to appear in an upcoming Season 1 episode. The series’ debut season is currently ongoing, with at least five unaired episodes still to go (according to the Internet Movie Database).

Update Jan 19: According to TV Line, Tricia will be playing a “sexy and mysterious woman” who may have some special powers of her own. She is set to appear in the “17th episode” of the series, which calculating from IMDb episode list is episode “No Ordinary Love” slated for March 1.
