Canadian actress and former model Tricia Helfer is one of Hollywood's rising acting talents, best known for her portrayal of humanoid Cylon Number Six on Syfy's critically acclaimed Battlestar Galactica. More recently, Helfer has starred in e.g. Andrew Paquin’s Open House and can currently be seen as Alex Clark on NBC's The Firm. Helfer is also an active benefactor of animal and environmental causes.

Dread Central reports Tricia Helfer is currently in talks to appear in Battlefield: Earth-director Roger Christian’s upcoming sci-fi horror/thriller Stranded. More from Dread Central:
It’s been a long, long time since last we heard anything from Battlefield: Earth director Roger Christian (who’s now in post on 13 Eerie), but he’s back with a new project in orbit. Read on!
ShadowLocked recently caught up with Christian, who revealed the following about his next project, Stranded, which follows four isolated astronauts on board a bio-dome spacecraft who experience a ghostly intercession after a meteor storm, leading to paranoia, fear and death.
“[It's] quite scary. We don’t have a creature,” he explains. “Our alien entity, which it is, is born on board. This woman gets pregnant and gives birth in a few days. It’s one of those weird things that happens very fast. The thing that’s on board imitates one of the crew members and takes him over… Our familiar character becomes the monster.”
Amanda Crew, Kevin Dillon, Michael Ironside, Tricia Helfer, Nick Stahl, Brendan Fletcher, Peter Facinelli, and Luke Goss are all in talks to join the cast.
As always, we’ll keep you posted on the developments.
Check out these first two photos of Tricia Helfer sporting a whole new look for her mysterious role as Izzy Rogers in the upcoming Season 7 finale of CBS’ Criminal Minds. The photos were taken on the set of the show earlier this week (and the hair is a wig). Looks terrific!
The two-hour season finale of Criminal Minds airs May 16 on CBS.
New “Ask Tricia” fan Q&A video from Tricia Helfer’s official site! In this clip, Tricia talks about among other things her notorious “baby neck-snapping” scene in the Battlestar Galactica miniseries, her dream motorcycle ride and her desire to appear on Breaking Bad, Damages, Men of a Certain Age, Justified or Sons of Anarchy. The current series of “Ask Tricia” vids was filmed in March 2011. Courtesy of Tricia’s official site:

Hope everyone was able to tune in to The Firm on NBC yesterday. It’s been a while since we last saw Tricia appear on the show, but she did last night, as did her Battlestar Galactica co-star Aaron Douglas by the way — if you missed it, you can now watch the episode online on NBC.com. Meanwhile, here’s our summary of the episode, 1.12 “Chapter Twelve”, beginning with a quick recap:
The McDeeres’ painstaking investigation into the Sarah Holt case finally begins to pay off when Tammy (Juliette Lewis) finds new incriminating information on Holt’s laptop as well as a corrupt ventilator program thanks to the help of a hacker friend, while Abby (Molly Parker) and Martin Moxon’s wife find dozens of files on dead or dying clients of Noble Insurance in Moxon’s secret safe deposit boxes. Putting the pieces together, it appears Noble’s Kevin Stack (Martin Donovan) has been killing off dying clients prematurely with the help of Sarah Holt (Alex Paxton-Beesley) in order to cut healthcare costs. When Mitch (Josh Lucas) confronts Sarah with the information, she finally concedes the truth, but dies suspiciously in her prison cell later that day before Mitch is able to take her to the DA. At the same time, Mitch makes a critical mistake in another ongoing case which could put his innocent client in jail for attempted murder. Later, Andrew (Shaun Majumder) accidentally overhears Alex (Tricia Helfer) and Kevin Stack discussing an ongoing strike on the McDeeres’ house, but is able to warn Mitch in the nick of time. The flashbacks catch up with the present, and Mitch, Ray (Callum Keith Rennie) and Tammy set up a meeting with Andrew while Abby and Claire (Natasha Calis) seek protection with the police.
Really great to see the Sarah Holt case finally starting to unfold, and to see Tricia back on the show after a three-episode break. Unfortunately, she wasn’t in the episode very much, but looked stunningly beautiful in the two scenes she had, and it was great seeing BSG‘s Aaron Douglas on the show as well, even though he sadly shared no scenes with either Tricia or Callum. 25 720p HD screen caps of Tricia’s appearance on the show have been uploaded to the gallery.
The next episode of The Firm airs April 14, i.e. Saturday two weeks from now — Tricia will be appearing in the episode so be sure to mark your calendars!
While we wait for more stuff on The Firm and Criminal Minds to arrive, check out this little blast from the past that recently surfaced on YouTube — a trailer for the 2004 NBC TV movie Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Charlie’s Angels. Tricia portrays the iconic Farrah Fawcett in the film in one of her first ever acting roles.
Check out the trailer for next Saturday’s new episode of The Firm — Battlestar Galactica‘s Aaron Douglas is guest starring! Courtesy of Aaron Douglas Fans:
Come Saturday, Douglas will be the fourth actor from Battlestar Galactica to have appeared on The Firm so far — in addition to series regular Callum Keith Rennie and of course regular guest Tricia Helfer, Kate Vernon also recently guest starred on the show.
According to TVLine, Tricia Helfer revealed on the Genesis Awards red carpet last night that she will be guest starring as a “bad character” in the upcoming Season 7 finale of CBS’ hit police procedural Criminal Minds. The two-hour finale is set to air May 16 on CBS.
Battlestar Galactica alumna Tricia Helfer will guest-star in the Season 7 finale of CBS’ Criminal Minds, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Helfer shared the news with us on the red carpet Saturday night at the 26th annual Genesis Awards, adding only the tease that she will be playing “definitely a bad character.”
CBS announced earlier this week that the Criminal Minds finale will run two hours on May 16, and involve an attack on a federal bank — and subsequently a hostage situation in which of the BAU members is held captive. The finale will also feature a wedding, series boss Erica Messer told TV Guide Magazine, and pave the way for Paget Brewster’s Prentiss to (again) leave the canvas.
Criminal Minds stars Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Matthew Gray Gubler, Shemar Moore, Kirsten Vangsness, A.J. Cook and Paget Brewster.
This is fantastic news!! Criminal Minds has long been one of my absolute favorite show — can’t wait to soon see one of my absolute favorite actresses on it!
As previously reported, Tricia Helfer attended the Humane Society 26th Annual Genesis Awards in Beverly Hills last night. Tricia looked absolutely lovely at the event in a sleek, black cocktail dress. Check out the first 19 medium-and hi-res photos we’ve found so far in our gallery — more material from this event as it comes in!
The Genesis Awards are awarded annually by The Humane Society of the United States to individuals in the major news and entertainment media for producing outstanding works which raise public awareness of animal issues. The awards will air Saturday, May 5 on Animal Planet.
Update: No clips of Tricia at the event have surfaced online yet, but we are continuously adding new photos to the gallery. Tricia presented the TV Documentary-award at the event with The Mentalist star Owain Yeoman — many thanks to Tricia for kindly responding to our tweet with the info!
Update Mar 28: Preview of the show and a quote from the event from Tricia via Examiner.com.
Tricia Helfer was also a presenter and passionately spoke about how what The Genesis Awards shines the spotlight on can have a positive impact on the planet and its creatures. “It’s about the message of bringing animal protection issues to the forefront. Not just dogs and cats and the cute pets we have at home, it’s also about farm animals and wild life. And that’s what’s important about it. Not everyone knows about the plight of the tigers that are going on India or the shark fishing for shark fin soup, and so it’s important to educate so that people can then make up their mind and be pro-active and try and help. It really is about awareness. Most people do care about animals. And so if they’re aware of what’s going on, then it will motivate people to take action. The more people you can get to do things for animals, the better. This is a way to honor those who have spent an ordinate amount of time being available helping animals.”
According to Tricia Helfer herself via her official Twitter account @trutriciahelfer, Tricia will be presenting tonight at The Humane Society’s 26th Annual Genesis Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA. This’ll mark her third consecutive appearance at the annual event.
Every year, The Genesis Awards pays tribute to the major news and entertainment media for producing outstanding works that raise public awareness of animal issues. As much as film, television, print and the web reflect societal attitudes, they also help shape and change those attitudes. The mass media, in all its new and diverse forms, has the power to deliver animal protection issues to vast audiences at the click of a mouse.
But it isn’t just big news stories that The Genesis Awards recognizes and celebrates, it’s movies, documentaries and all categories of TV programming which, by incorporating animal protection themes or messages into their storylines, help increase public consciousness, reminding us that compassion for animals is one of our core human values.
The only awards show of its kind, The Genesis Awards celebrates the media for celebrating animals because it’s our belief that “cruelty can’t stand the spotlight.”
Just a quick update that NBC has rescheduled the next episode of The Firm. Episode 1.11 “Chapter Eleven” will now air Saturday, March 24 (i.e. next week’s Saturday) at 9/8c. Episode 1.17 - "Chapter Seventeen" Airs Saturday, May 19 at 9/8c on NBC
Mitch (Josh Lucas) represents a young woman charged with solicitation but he soon discovers she has a much more dangerous secret.
