Canadian actress and former model Tricia Helfer is one of Hollywood's rising acting talents, best known for her portrayal of the humanoid Cylon Number Six on Syfy's critically acclaimed Battlestar Galactica. More recently, Helfer has starred in e.g. Andrew Paquin’s Open House and appeared as Alex Clark on NBC's The Firm. Helfer is also an active benefactor of animal rights and environmental causes.

You guys, it’s that time of the year again. I’m heading out of town for the holidays, and therefore Tricia Helfer Fan will likely not be updated 18.-26.12.2010. The gallery and media archive will remain open for the time being, however the main site will likely not be updated with any news, nor will I be able to read or respond to any emails. If something big happens, we’ll try to post at least something either here or on Twitter, but we probably won’t be able to. Sorry!
When we come back, though, we’ll finally finish the big content revision we’ve been working on this fall + put up a shiny new layout. We’ll also finally put up that page about Tricia and Katee’s Acting Outlaws “LA La Ride” last October which we were unable to finish before the holidays despite our best efforts. Anyway, check back with us soon for the updates, and Merry Christmas, y’all!
The first pictures are in! Check out these first two photos of Tricia Helfer at the ongoing2010 Spike Video Game Awards in Los Angeles, CA. Tricia is looking absolutely stunning at the event in a strapless sparkly Alice + Olivia dress. Tons more VGA pics coming up!
Tricia is nominated at this year’s VGAs for Best Performance by a Human Female for voicing Sarah Kerrigan in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. The show will begin in 15 minutes; fingers crossed she’ll win!
Update: We now have 11 photos of Tricia at the still ongoing VGAs in the gallery. Nothing on Tricia’s category yet…
Update 2: Well, the show’s over, but still nothing on Tricia’s category. According to Wikipedia, this is the first time not all awards were awarded during the show, and it would appear the Best Performance by a Human Female-category is one of those that got left out of it. We’ll just have to wait for an announcement, I guess.
Update Dec 12: Tricia winsBest Performance by a Human Female! Congratulations! Shame we didn’t get to see it happen. Or as Tricia herself put it via her official Twitter account @trutriciahelfer…
Ya, it’s pretty lame that best human male got airtime but not best human female. What era are we in? (Dec 12)
Our thoughts exactly. Meanwhile, though, we have more new pics + the first HQs in the gallery!
To begin with, Tricia will be on hand at this year’s Spike Video Game Awards, where she is up for Best Performance by a Human Female for voicing Sarah Kerrigan in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. The VGAs will be broadcast live on Spike this Saturday, December 11 beginning 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT. Catch it if you can!
Going to be at Spike’s #VGA (video game awards) on Sat. I’m up for Best Performance by a Human Female for #Starcraft. Should be fun! (Dec 9)
I’m wearing a short little sparkly number by Alice & Olivia. (Dec 9)
Just another little media treat today! We’ve just updated the media archive with five video clips of Tricia Helfer as Leila Cole in The Green Chain (2007), a faux documentary about tree logging in Canada. Personally, it’s not one of my favorite movies, but it has a pretty unique documentary/monologue-type concept which must’ve been a challenge for the actors, Tricia included, so it’s still worth a look. Hope you enjoy!
All videos are in .MOV format, which is playable in e.g. QuickTime and VLC. Please remember you must be a registered and logged in media archive user to access our collection of video clips. Unlogged users will not be able to view said material. Registration is free and only takes a moment. Thank you.
Last Wednesday, December 1, Tricia Helfer appeared at the 18th Annual Divine Design Gala benefiting Project Angel Food in Beverly Hills, California. So far we’ve only been able to find three decent-sized photos of Tricia at the event, but we’ll of course keep looking for more. You’ll recognize Tricia’s lovely dress from her 2008 appearance at the JTN Vision Awards. Check out the new pics at our gallery!
Update Dec 5: As you can tell from the scarcity of photos, pics from this event have proven hard to find, but we’ve nevertheless managed to scrape up a few new ones for the gallery today (+ the three first without the earlier watermark). We’ll keep looking for more, though.
Hope y’all were able to tune in last night to Tricia Helfer guest starring as Bitsie Katz on ABC’s legal drama The Whole Truth, starring Rob Morrow and Maura Tierney. As always, here’s our coverage of Tricia’s appearance on the show, beginning with a brief recap of the episode, 1.06 “Liars”:
When a dentist is found dead in his office, Jimmy Brogan (Morrow) is hired to represent the prime suspect, his wife, with whom the man was going through a difficult divorce. At the preliminary hearing, however, things take a whole new turn when a certain Bitsie Katz appears, claiming to be the man’s fiancée and causing a scene, and before long the entire scope of his (many) affairs is revealed. Although the evidence against the wife is compelling, at the same time as DA Peale (Tierney) vehemently seeks to indict her, certain obscurities in the case make Brogan doubt her guilt, and when everyone’s a liar the killer could be anyone.
In the episode, Tricia Helfer has a small but fun role as the ditzy Bitsie, and it was really great to see her do something entirely different for a change, and do a terrific job of it, too. The show wasn’t at all bad either, especially Maura Tierney as Peale, and the concept of the show is just great imo. Shame it appears The Whole Truth is irrevocably canceled; networks seem to just not want to give new shows a proper chance anymore.
Anyway, media-wise we’ve updated the site today with 103 site-exclusive 720p HD screen captures of Tricia in the episode + three video clips. All video clips are in .MOV format, which is playable in e.g. QuickTime and VLC. Don’t forget that although our gallery is open for everyone, access to our video archive requires logging in with a registered username. Registration at our media archive is free and only takes a moment. Thanks, and hope you enjoy!
Although we all surely saw the duo’s daily Twitter updates and live broadcasts from the trip, the new clip promises there is still lots of great, unseen footage and stories from the road to be had. The video, courtesy of ActingOutlaws.org:
Speaking of which, if anyone happened to miss the ride and all the coverage from it this Fall, we’ll planning to post a complete overview of it on Tricia Helfer Fan before Christmas. Check back for it soon!
Don’t forget to tune in tonight for Tricia Helfer’s guest starring episode on ABC’s legal drama The Whole Truth, starring Rob Morrow and Maura Tierney. Episode 1.06 “Liars” airs tonight at 10/9c on ABC; Tricia appears as Bitsie Katz. As always, check back with us for full coverage from the episode this week!
As you will probably have noticed, news on Tricia hasn’t been particularly abundant lately, so we’ve instead updated site with another rare little media treat today.
In 2006, Tricia Helfer appeared as Ally Simon in writer-director Timothy A. Chey low-budget drama The Genius Club, from which we’ve today uploaded a rare site-exclusive batch of both medium-res screen captures and video clips. Personally, it’s not one of my favorite Tricia movies to be honest, but it’s still an interesting look at some of her first ever feature film roles. Hope you enjoy!
All clips are in .MOV format, which is playable in e.g. QuickTime and VLC. Please remember that although our gallery is open to everyone, access to the video section of our media archive requires user registration and/or logging in. Thank you.
According to Tricia Helfer herself via her official Twitter account @trutriciahelfer, Tricia will be guest starring on TNT’s upcoming new legal dramedy Franklin & Bash in June 2011:
I’m guesting on TNT’s new show (next June) Franklin & Bash with @MP_Gosselaar Breckin Meyer Malcom McDowell. How can u go wrong with those 3 (Nov 26)
Franklin & Bash is currently in production, and as of yet does not have an official site. Wikipedia, however, has a brief description of the upcoming show:
After two streetwise lawyers take down a stuffy law firm, they are recruited by the head of the firm to bring new life to the work place. [...] The series stars Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as unconventional lawyers and longtime friends.
As always, we’ll keep you posted as to any and all new developments regarding this new little stint on TV (though it might be a while before we get more substantial news, Tricia’s episode or episodes not airing until next summer).
Well, it is unfortunately as we predicted. According to an exclusive announcement by The Futon Critic, TNT has canceled its undercover cop drama Dark Blue. It will therefore not be renewed for a third season. The news via The Futon Critic:
TNT has canceled its Dylan McDermott-led drama Dark Blue after two seasons.
A network spokesperson confirmed to the site this afternoon that the network won’t be ordering a third season of the series.
The show’s 10-episode sophomore run averaged 2.25 million viewers and 0.6 rating among adults 18-49, making it the least-watched of the cable channel’s summer offerings: The Closer (7.21 million, 1.4 adults 18-49 rating), Rizzoli & Isles (6.89 million, 1.5 adults 18-49 rating), Memphis Beat (3.63 million, 0.8 adults 18-49 rating), Leverage (3.33 million, 1.0 adults 18-49 rating) and Hawthorne (3.09 million, 0.9 adults 18-49 rating).
Danny Cannon, Doug Jung, Rick Eid, Jonathan Littman and Jerry Bruckheimer were the executive producers for Warner Horizon Television.
Even though the news doesn’t come as a big surprise to us, we’re sorry to see the show go. Alex Rice, whom Tricia Helfer debuted as this season, was her first regular role on TV since Battlestar Galactica.
