Thanks to the Chesler/Perlmutter Twitter page, we have more information on Tricia Helfer’s “mystery” movie shoot.

According to C/P, Tricia is currently in Toronto, Canada to film Christmas Share, a Christmas TV movie for The Hallmark Channel. The film has yet to get an IMDb page, so not a lot of information is available on it at the moment, but according to the OMDC website, the film will be directed by Harvey Crossland. Filming is scheduled to go on until May 24th.

More details as we find them! :)

Update May 14: According to the Twitter pages of Tricia and Lategan Media respectively, Canadian actor Mark Lutz (Angel, Flashpoint, Ghost Whisperer: The Other Side) and American country music singer JT Hodges also star in the film. Check out also a couple of photos from the set in our gallery, courtesy of Tricia.

TV Line’s Michael Ausiello reports Tricia Helfer has nabbed the lead role in the upcoming ABC drama pilot Killer Women.

Former Battlestar Galactica badass Tricia Helfer has landed the lead in Killer Women, ABC’s drama pilot about the only female in the male-dominated Texas Ranger Division, TVLine has learned.

Based on the Argentine series Mujeres Asesinas, the project — which counts Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara among its producers — finds Helfer playing Molly Parker, a beautiful and ballsy Ranger who knows how to get the truth and isn’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers on her way there.

Hannah Shakespeare (The Playboy Club) penned the script.

More information, of course, as we get it.

Super exciting!! :D Congratulations, Tricia!

Update Feb 21: More casting news from Ausiello! According to TV Line, Marc Blucas, who currently appears on USA Network’s Necessary Roughness, has been cast in the pilot in an as yet unspecified role as “Dan”. Details from The Hollywood Reporter:

Blucas will play Dan, an East Coast educated, dedicated DEA agent who’s personally reserved and highly noncommittal. He has an undeniable attraction to and physical relationship with Tricia Helfer’s Molly but like her, admits superficial is all he can handle. The duo will work together to solve open cases.

Blucas plays Matthew on USA Network’s Roughness, which this week aired its sophomore finale and was recently renewed for a shortened Season 3. He has also appeared on Castle, Body of Proof and Revenge. Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans will remember him as the Slayer’s first serious post-Angel boyfriend.

Update 2: The new stuff keeps coming in. The Hollywood Reporter has a more detailed description of Tricia’s character Molly, and also reports Casino Royale‘s Martin Campbell will be directing the pilot:

According to Tricia Helfer herself via her verified Twitter account @trutriciahelfer, Tricia is currently filming indie drama 37.

Recently filmed a comedy indie, starting a drama indie about ALS. Gonna be a tough one. My tear ducts better be ready. Hard disease. (Sep 28)

First day of filming for my character on ’37.’ starting with my last scene first. That happens so many times it’s almost funny…almost. (Oct 3)

Although Tricia gives no further information on the film, it is likely that she is talking about writer-director Randall Batinkoff’s upcoming feature film debut 37, which is currently filming in Los Angeles. Synopsis from Variety:

Story, based on an unpublished book written by Guy Blews, centers on a rocker (played by Batinkoff) who makes a pact to kill himself when he turns 37 out of guilt over the death of his brother. Several months before his 37th birthday and the release of his comeback album, he falls in love with a terminally ill woman.

More information as we get it!

Update Oct 11: Tricia has confirmed via Twitter that the movie is indeed Batinkoff’s 37. According to Tricia and actress Scottie Thompson’s recent tweets, Tricia will be playing the sister of Thompson’s Jemma, the “terminally ill woman” Batinkoff’s Adam falls in love with. A pic of Tricia on the set with Thompson and Randall Batinkoff has been added to our gallery courtesy of Scottie Thompson’s Twitter account.

Exciting news! According to Tricia Helfer herself via her official Twitter account @trutriciahelfer, Tricia is currently filming the indie comedy Scribble with legendary actor Dennis Farina (Law & Order, Snatch, Out of Sight).

@joeltpryor Start filming an indie tomorrow. Playing a German gal, dating Dennis Farina’s character. Should be fun. (Aug 9)

Home from my first day on set of ‘Scribble’ today, working with Dennis Farina. Love, love, love him. Such a cool guy. (Aug 11)

Plot overview for the film from The Internet Movie Database:

A group of mostly untalented novelists form a dysfunctional writing group. When one finds success, the others through jealousy, envy and resentment, decide to make their own version of success.

According to IMDb, Scribble also stars Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls, Veronica Mars) and John Griffin (Strong Medicine, 24, Priest) and will be directed by Ellie Kanner (For the Love of Money, Wake). According to BCA FYI, the film is being eyed for a spring 2013 release.

Entertainment Weekly exclusively reports Tricia Helfer will be guest starring in the upcoming second season of Husbands, a critically acclaimed web series about two male celebrities who “get married, and the media explodes with speculation and judgment”. The series was created and written by Jane Espenson, with whom Tricia worked on the Battlestar Galactica series.

More from EW.com:

EW can reveal exclusively that Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Sasha Roiz (Grimm), Magda Apanowicz (Caprica), Aasha Davis (Pariah), and Clare Grant (Blake Snake Moan) will guest star on the second season, which premieres Aug. 15 on HusbandsTheSeries.com. Whedonverse luminaries Felicia Day (Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog), Amber Benson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Emma Caulfield (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Dichen Lachman (Dollhouse) also jumped at the chance to appear on the show, which Espenson says speaks for the quality of the material.

“My expectation was that it was going to be calling in favors, so I reached out to people I’d worked with and loved and knew were fantastic,” she says. “Every one of them was eager to do it, but not just as a favor. They actually wrote back and said, ‘Read the script, want to be involved.’”

So what’s in store for the newlyweds in season 2? First, it will be three episodes roughly eight minutes long, instead of 11 episodes spread out in small two-minute chunks like the first season. And second, expect the media to get some healthy ribbing.

Check out also a picture of Tricia on the set of the show, in which “Tricia Helfer and Dichen Lachman prepare for a scene that [co-writer, co-creator and star Brad] Bell calls ‘one of the funniest moments of the season,’” in our gallery, and check out the show at www.husbandstheseries.com.

Husbands Season 2 premieres August 15 on the Husbands website.

Dread Central reports Tricia Helfer is currently in talks to appear in Battlefield: Earth-director Roger Christian’s upcoming sci-fi horror/thriller Stranded. More from Dread Central:

It’s been a long, long time since last we heard anything from Battlefield: Earth director Roger Christian (who’s now in post on 13 Eerie), but he’s back with a new project in orbit. Read on!

ShadowLocked recently caught up with Christian, who revealed the following about his next project, Stranded, which follows four isolated astronauts on board a bio-dome spacecraft who experience a ghostly intercession after a meteor storm, leading to paranoia, fear and death.

“[It's] quite scary. We don’t have a creature,” he explains. “Our alien entity, which it is, is born on board. This woman gets pregnant and gives birth in a few days. It’s one of those weird things that happens very fast. The thing that’s on board imitates one of the crew members and takes him over… Our familiar character becomes the monster.”

Amanda Crew, Kevin Dillon, Michael Ironside, Tricia Helfer, Nick Stahl, Brendan Fletcher, Peter Facinelli, and Luke Goss are all in talks to join the cast.

As always, we’ll keep you posted on the developments.

According to TVLine, Tricia Helfer revealed on the Genesis Awards red carpet last night that she will be guest starring as a “bad character” in the upcoming Season 7 finale of CBS’ hit police procedural Criminal Minds. The two-hour finale is set to air May 16 on CBS.

Battlestar Galactica alumna Tricia Helfer will guest-star in the Season 7 finale of CBS’ Criminal Minds, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Helfer shared the news with us on the red carpet Saturday night at the 26th annual Genesis Awards, adding only the tease that she will be playing “definitely a bad character.”

CBS announced earlier this week that the Criminal Minds finale will run two hours on May 16, and involve an attack on a federal bank — and subsequently a hostage situation in which of the BAU members is held captive. The finale will also feature a wedding, series boss Erica Messer told TV Guide Magazine, and pave the way for Paget Brewster’s Prentiss to (again) leave the canvas.

Criminal Minds stars Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Matthew Gray Gubler, Shemar Moore, Kirsten Vangsness, A.J. Cook and Paget Brewster.

This is fantastic news!! Criminal Minds has long been one of my absolute favorite show — can’t wait to soon see one of my absolute favorite actresses on it!

A genius hacker and his dog help an enigmatic young woman to free the remaining test subjects of a black ops ESP test lab.

According to IMDb, Tricia will be voicing the role of Kali in the film. Tricia herself has yet to confirm her involvement, but we’ll keep you posted if and when she does.

Fantastic news, you guys! According to Deadline.com as well as Tricia Helfer herself, Tricia has been cast as the lead in a new TNT pilot called Scent of the Missing. Details from Tricia’s official Twitter account @trutriciahelfer and Deadline as follows:

Just booked a new pilot for TNT based off the book #ScentoftheMissing Very excited for the role and opportunity! #fb (Oct 12)

Battlestar Galactica alumna Tricia Helfer has been cast as the lead in TNT’s drama pilot Scent Of The Missing. Veteran Gerald McRaney will co-star in the project, co-written/executive produced by CSI maven Carol Mendelsohn, Melissa R. Byer and Treena Hancock based on the book by Susannah Charleson. Scent Of The Missing centers on Susannah (Helfer), a tenacious, strong-willed K-9 Search and Rescue volunteer who works with an equally determined partner — her mischievous golden retriever, Puzzle. McRaney will play her father, Jerry. The dog has not been cast yet. CBS Television Studios is producing the pilot, with Barry Josephson and Julie Weitz also executive producing.

Sounds like a great and unique idea for a pilot, especially for an animal lover like Tricia, and we’re so happy to see her finally cast in a leading role on a show. Congratulations, Tricia!

Exciting news! According to Tricia Helfer herself via her official Twitter account @trutriciahelfer, Tricia will be appearing as a recurring guest star in the upcoming series The Firm, premiering next year on NBC.

Just signed a recurring role “Alex Clark” in NBC’s ‘The Firm’ airing this winter. Will be working with some amazing talent – very excited! (Aug 19)

The show will star Juliette Lewis, Josh Lucas, Molly Parker and Callum Keith Rennie (whom you’ll recall as Cylon Number Two “Leoben” from Battlestar Galactica), with filming of its 22-episode(!) order scheduled to begin this month in Toronto, Canada. Details on the show’s premise from NBC:

Based on the blockbuster feature film and the best-selling novel of 1991 by world-renowned author Grisham (The Pelican Brief, The Client), The Firm continues the story of attorney Mitchell McDeere (Lucas) who, as a young associate, brought down the prestigious Memphis law firm of Bendini, Lambert & Locke, which operated as a front for the Chicago mob. After a difficult decade, McDeere and his family now emerge from isolation to reclaim their lives and their future — only to find that past dangers are still lurking and new threats are everywhere.

According to TV Line, Alex Clark is a senior partner in the law film “Kinross & Clark, who brings Mitch in as a partner.”

We are absolutely thrilled to hear Tricia has landed this exciting project, and for us 2012 just can’t come soon enough. Congratulations, Tricia!
