Canadian actress and former model Tricia Helfer is one of Hollywood's rising acting talents, best known for her portrayal of humanoid Cylon Number Six on Syfy's critically acclaimed Battlestar Galactica. More recently, Helfer has starred in e.g. Andrew Paquin’s Open House and can currently be seen as Alex Clark on NBC's The Firm. Helfer is also an active benefactor of animal and environmental causes.

Since we expect things to be a bit quiet again for a little while, here’s a little something to keep you interested — another batch of very rare, site-exclusive photos of Tricia Helfer on the runway ca. 1996-1997 as well as a couple of rare outtakes from an unknown photoshoot from the 1990s and another from 2010. You’ll also notice the photoshoots have today been reorganized into categories by year. Some of today’s new runway images are courtesy of TopModelsOfTheWorld.com and ultra-glam fashion & couture @ Flickr. Hope you enjoy!
Please Note: Our gallery of runway photos is now available to registered users only. Unlogged users will no longer be able to access most of the images in this section of our gallery. Registration at our gallery is 100% free and only takes a moment. The rest of our gallery remains, as always, open for everyone to browse. :)
Just a quick heads-up that we’ve updated the gallery with two preview collages of Tricia Helfer and Grace Park’s full 2009 photoshoot for US Maxim. Unfortunately, the outtakes are not available to us in decent quality in a larger size, but we thought you’d like to see them anyway, so we instead made two collages of the small images we have.
Check out this stunning one-minute clip from Tricia Helfer’s photoshoot last year with photographer Dennys Ilic. As of yet, we don’t know what publication (if any) the photoshoot was for.
We’re back! :) And, if not with any news, with a pretty big update nonetheless, because the media archive has just been updated with 46 Tricia Helfer video clips from Dark Blue, various talk shows, 2009-2010 events and lastly Tricia and Grace Park’s Maxim photoshoot from last year. Hope you check ‘em out!
All new videos are in .MOV or .MP4 format, which are playable in e.g. QuickTime and VLC. Please remember you must be a registered and logged in media archive user to access our collection of video clips. Unlogged users will not be able to view said material. Registration is free and only takes a moment. Thank you.
Just a quick heads-up that we’ve updated the gallery with three stunning new hi-res photos + one hi-res replacement from Tricia Helfer and co-star Dylan McDermott’s Dark Blue Season 2 promotional photoshoot. Be sure to have a look!
More press coverage! Here’s another article and interview with Tricia Helfer from Access DirecTV magazine’s August 2010 issue. The two-page feature comes with a brand new outtake from Tricia’s last year’s Maximphotoshoot with Grace Park. Full article under the cut.
Breaking necks and riding hogs with Tricia Helfer — you up for it?
Spend your days trying to wipe out the human race, as Tricia Helfer did as the murderous Number Six on Battlestar Galactica, and you’re likely to take a few lumps yourself. Helfer’s penchant for doing her own stunts as BSG‘s sexiest Cylon led to two busted ribs — in a battle royale with Lucy Lawless, no less — and one severely jacked-up spine. “I had four discs replaced with artificial ones, two in my neck and two in my lumbar,” she says. “I had them done at the same time, which they normally don’t do because it’s such a difficult surgery. [Former NFL player] Brian Bosworth did both locations at once too.”
After four years on BSG, and a role as a knife-wielding home buyer in the upcoming film Open House, Helfer is now on the side of the righteous, as FBI special agent Alex Rice on the series Dark Blue. “Playing a villain is fun, but I’ve always wanted to play FBI or police,” says the Alberta, Canada, native. “I still get to kill people, but now it’s part of my job.”
Tricia Helfer may have played it all, but she sure hasn’t told it all — until now!
Canadian actress and former model, Tricia Helfer, already has an impressive resume — including her role as Number Six on Battlestar Galactica, her role as Carla on the popular USA show Burn Notice, and being host to season one of Canada’s Next Top Model. What’s next for this beautiful blonde? She’ll be playing FBI Special Agent Alex Rice on TNT’s drama series Dark Blue, which premieres TONIGHT, August 4 at 10pm/9pm CT! The series, which was new to TNT last season, is based in L.A. and centers on an undercover unit solving crime.
Check out these six things you never knew about Tricia Helfer!
1. I know how to weld. Not good, mind you, but I know how.
2.I have 4 artificial discs in my back.
3. I have never skied or snowboarded. I know, shocking for someone who grew up near the Canadian Rockies!
4. When I get home from set after a night shoot, I have a bourbon before going to bed.
5. After a good day’s ride on my motorbike, I absolutely crave and must have … chips and salsa.
Check out this photographed preview of Tricia Helfer on the cover of the Mexican men’s magazine, Deep, issue July 2010. The cover shot originates from the earlier of Tricia’s two smouldering Maximphotoshoots from last year. We’re unable to get this magazine where we are, though, so if anyone would like to share their scans with us, please do so as it would be most appreciated! Thank you.
Some small, but exciting event news and goodies today!
To begin with, according to Tricia Helfer’s official site, Tricia will be attending the 3rd Annual Fur Ball at the SkirballKitten Rescue fundraiser Saturday, September 11 2010 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, CA. The event will once again be hosted by The Office-star Jenna Fischer. Tickets are $125 apiece ($1250 for an Angel Table with seating for 10); details and ticket purchases are available via KittenRescue.org. Be sure to book your seat, if you’re able to attend. It’s for a good cause, after all, and you’ll of course have a chance to meet Tricia in person!
Speaking of events and good causes, a couple of days ago on July 15, Tricia attended the BTC and Artists & Athletes Alliance-hosted Evening with Philippe Cousteau in Beverly Hills, CA, a briefing on the ongoing BP oil spill catastrophe on the Gulf Coast. Battlestar Galactica‘s Edward James Olmos was also among the attendants. According to Tricia’s official site, she and Battlestar Galactica co-star Katee Sackhoff are working on an oil spill fundraiser; additional details should be coming soon. If you’re interested in the Cousteau event and want to learn more about the subject, there’s a great and informative report on it at ServiceNation.org.
“I’d be happy to unzip my pants, Lieutenant, and slap my résumé on the table next to yours and compare whose is bigger.”

Lots of news via Dark Blue‘s newly updated official site!
First, we have a couple of gorgeous new (if medium-res) promotional photos as well as the first medium-res episodic stills of Tricia Helfer on the show as FBI Agent Alex Rice. The new stills are from episode 2.02 “Liar’s Poker”, which looks to be the second hour of the August 4 two-hour season premiere. As always, we’ll be on the lookout for better-res versions of these, but in the mean time check them out anyway.
Then for two great behind-the-scenes video clips from the Dark Blue website. This first one is a Season 2 character overview, in which Tricia’s Alex is also covered. Her segment, featuring a quick interview as well as some great clips from her first scenes on the show, comes in at 2:25, but the most sharp-eyed ones will also catch glimpses of her in the early seconds also. The clip, as embedded below or on the Dark Blue website:
Check out this action-packed first trailer for TNT’s undercover cop drama Dark Blue, returning August 4 for a second season. Tricia Helfer debuts on the show this season as FBI Agent Alex Rice.
The trailer (you’ll notice the audio is a bit off):
The gallery has also been updated with a couple of screen caps of Tricia in the trailer, as well as a small new Season 2 promotional pic of Tricia and co-star Dylan McDermott. Be sure to have a look!
As you can see it’s been a quiet week news-wise. However, we do have a small update for you today, as we’ve finally been able to update the gallery with a hi-res version of that first Dark Blue Season 2 cast group photo Tricia Helfer previewed on her blog a couple of weeks back. As most of you will know, Tricia debuts this season on the TNT undercover cop drama as FBI Agent Alex Rice. Check it out!
