According to a new press release from The Hallmark Channel, the upcoming Christmas movie Mistletoe Over Manhattan will be premiering Sunday, November 6 at 8PM ET/PT, 7c on Hallmark as part of their “Countdown to Christmas”. Tricia Helfer stars in the film as Lucy opposite Tedde Moore, Greg Bryk, Mairtin O’Carrigan and Damon Runyan.

Check out also this first promotional photo we found today of Tricia in the film with co-star Bryk.

Rebecca, Mrs. Claus (Moore) is worried that her exhausted, workaholic husband (O’Carrigan) has lost his holiday spirit. She believes she can help him recapture his bliss and secretly heads to the one place she knows the spirit of Christmas must still exist, the place she fell in love with Nick – New York City. In a crowded diner, Rebecca befriends Joe (Bryk), a caring cop who is worried about this kindly grandmother, who’s alone and low on funds. Joe reveals he and his wife Lucy are in the middle of a divorce. Sensing that Joe is still very much in love with his wife, Rebecca agrees to work temporarily as the family’s nanny until Christmas. To Rebecca’s delight, by healing Joe and Lucy’s family, she shows Santa that Christmas miracles are still possible and his job’s more important than ever!

It’s been a long time since we last had anything on Eric Wostenberg’s upcoming thriller Phase One, in which Tricia Helfer stars as Dr. Wilcox opposite Travis Van Winkle, John Bregar, Eric Roberts and Mircea Monroe, however we finally have some news, and some great news at that!

According to The Sudbury Star’s recent interview with producer Brandon Nutt about the making of the film, Phase One has landed a DVD distribution deal with Lightning Entertainment. Although an exact release date remains to be announced, the film will be premiering tonight at the Cinéfest Sudbury International Film Festival. The plot synopsis:

Best friends Greg (Van Winkle) and Rob (Bregar), college roommates, decide to earn a little extra cash by participating in a two-week pharmaceutical test over the Christmas holidays. Locked into a remote hospital facility far out in the isolated countryside, they find themselves part of a bizarre series of tests. But as order and control start to break down, it becomes clear that drugs are having increasingly dangerous side effects, and that no one involved in the test will be safe for long.

We also managed to find the first trailer for the film, which happily features a good deal of Tricia. Check it out below:

We finally have some more details on Tricia Helfer’s involvement in the upcoming TV movie Mistletoe Over Manhattan, filming for which wrapped a couple of weeks ago in Ontario, Canada.

According to this press release from The Hallmark Channel, Tricia will be appearing in the film as Lucy opposite Greg Bryk, Tedde Moore, Mairtin O’Carrigan and (although not mentioned in the press release) Damon Runyan. The film will be premiering this Christmas on The Hallmark Channel.

A description of the film from the press release via The Futon Critic:

Mrs. Claus’ mission to find Christmas spirit for her stressed-out husband also ignites a family, torn apart by divorce, to rediscover the power of love just in time for Christmas in Mistletoe Over Manhattan, a Hallmark Channel Original Movie World Premiere, Holiday 2011. Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica, Burn Notice), Greg Bryk (Happy Town, A History of Violence), Tedde Moore (The Kennedys) and Mairtin O’Carrigan (The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day) star in the inspiring holiday story. Hallmark Channel’s “Countdown to Christmas,” one of the most anticipated seasonal events in entertainment features more holiday-themed programming than any other network.

Rebecca, Mrs. Claus (Moore) is worried that her exhausted, workaholic husband (O’Carrigan) has lost his holiday spirit. She believes she can help him recapture his bliss and secretly heads to the one place she knows the spirit of Christmas must still exist, the place she fell in love with Nick — New York City. In a crowded diner, Rebecca befriends Joe (Bryk), a caring cop who is worried about this kindly grandmother, who’s alone and low on funds. Joe reveals he and his wife Lucy (Helfer) are in the middle of a divorce.

Sounds like we have an extra present to unwrap this Christmas! :)
