Canadian actress and former model Tricia Helfer is one of Hollywood's rising acting talents, best known for her portrayal of humanoid Cylon Number Six on Syfy's critically acclaimed Battlestar Galactica. More recently, Helfer has starred in e.g. Andrew Paquin’s Open House and can currently be seen as Alex Clark on NBC's The Firm. Helfer is also an active benefactor of animal and environmental causes.

Another two new pictures from Tricia from the set of Scent of the Missing in Hamilton today, one with co-star Eric Winter (The Mentalist, Brothers & Sisters, Days of Our Lives). See them in our gallery here.
It also looks like some of the characters have gotten new names. Most notably, Tricia’s own character Susannah is now “Ally” and her canine companion, previously called Puzzle, is now “Rocket”. Via Twitter:
News on Tricia may be slow, but she is definitely not idling! Project news straight from Tricia Helfer herself via her official Twitter account @trutriciahelfer:
Been off the radar…jeez. In escrow on a house – doing inspections, testing for a new show on Thur, and flying Fri to go film a movie. (Jun 21)
Leaving to film a Christmas movie for Lifetime. Cute story. Quite excited to finally have a project my young nephews can watch!! (Jun 21)
Details as we get them…
Update Jun 28: More from Tricia’s Twitter — the Lifetime Hallmark Christmas movie is called Mistletoe Over Manhattan and is currently filming.
On set on Mistletoe in Manhattan, hence being quiet lately. Full of xmas spirit in June, lol. Lovely cast and crew. (Jun 27)
Damn, Mistletoe Over Manhattan – not “in”. Exhausted brain. (Jun 27)
Diligently studying…and looking tired – or is it just bad lighting, lol. http://yfrog.com/kgyehorj (Jun 27)
@dawnrmeade I was wrong, it’s an xmas Hallmark movie. But your comment still works perfectly! (Jun 28)
Update Jun 29: Another three pics from Tricia from the set of Mistletoe Over Manhattan, this time with co-stars Damon Runyan and Greg Bryk.
Hanging with my onscreen hubby @thebrykhouse Love a man in uniform! http://yfrog.com/klmetnj (Jun 29)
Update Jun 30: Not a lot of information online on Mistletoe Over Manhattan so far, however the DGC Ontario District Council website has a Hallmark film by that name listed as being in production, with John Bradshaw named as the director. In all likelihood, this is the film Tricia is currently filming with co-stars Bryk and Runyan.
Just a quick heads-up that Tricia Helfer has wrapped her scenes for the upcoming NBC pilot 17th Precinct in Vancouver, Canada.
Just wrapped on #17thPrecinct. In on Monday for pix but done filming my stuff!! Fingers crossed we’re back with a series. (Mar 25)
If the pilot gets picked up for a series, Tricia expects the first episodes to air in the fall.
The show has to get picked up to series first. If it does, we’ll shoot more eps & probably start airing in the fall. (Mar 22)
Check out also these couple of new images from the March 23 day of filming inside the Waterfall Building in Vancouver, courtesy of Susan Gittins.
Update Mar 28: Two pics of Tricia, Jamie Bamber, James Callis and Matt Long at the 17th Precinct Wrap Party in Vancouver last Saturday, via Tricia’s Twitter. Now we have only to wait whether or not NBC picks up the show.
A small update on ABC’s No Ordinary Family via Tricia Helfer’s official Twitter account @trutriciahelfer. Tricia is currently filming her upcoming guest episode on the show (likely episode 1.17 “No Ordinary Love” set for March 1), and has been diligently tweeting both updates and photos from the set.
Off to set on my first day for #NoOrdinaryFamily Will be shooting long into the night! (Jan 21)
Just home from set now and having a bourbon. Off to bed soon…hoping the cats don’t wake me up early — fat chance of that not happening. (Jan 22)
All good now tho, so I’m gonna work out, study for #NOF tomorrow, take a bath while sipping a lychee martini, and get a good sleep. (Jan 24)
Okay, we’re being a little fierce here, lol…#NOF http://ow.ly/i/7xO3 it’s getting late and blurry eyed, haha (Jan 25)
Update Jan 28: A couple of new Twitter photos from the No Ordinary Family set have been uploaded to the gallery. It also looks like Tricia has wrapped filming!
Most likely my last day on #NOF set. Yes, I’ll try to get a pic with Julie. (Jan 26)
No Ordinary Family revolves around the Powells who are pretty much your average, everyday American family. That is until their plane crashes in the Amazon jungle. After that, well, let’s just say the Powells are a little less ordinary.
The above tweets being the first announcement of any kind regarding Tricia’s involvement in the show, there are naturally no additional details to be had yet. However, with Tricia evidently filming her episode in the near or immediate future, we’re pretty she’s set to appear in an upcoming Season 1 episode. The series’ debut season is currently ongoing, with at least five unaired episodes still to go (according to the Internet Movie Database).
Great to hear Tricia’s got something new on her plate!
Update Jan 19: According to TV Line, Tricia will be playing a “sexy and mysterious woman” who may have some special powers of her own. She is set to appear in the “17th episode” of the series, which calculating from IMDb episode list is episode “No Ordinary Love” slated for March 1. Check out also this cute picture of Tricia at the No Ordinary Family production office, as tweeted by the episode writer Ali Adler.
I do believe we have a new project announcement to look forward to!
Tricia Helfer and actress Diora Baird (Wedding Crashers, 30 Days of Night: Dark Days) have lately been tweeting warily about a “super secret” new project they’ve been working on this past month. Tricia recently posted via Twitter a photo of herself on the set in full gear, and although she does not say the picture is from the “secret Diora project”, we noticed that Diora Baird also posted a pic of herself on the set of a production a couple of weeks ago, and the similarity in costume is notable. Or if you’d like to judge for yourself:
Some of Tricia and Diora Baird‘s recent tweets which we think are related:
@diorabaird1: Stoked for tomorrow’s “top secret” shoot, but dreading the 4am alarm buzz. Bring it on hallucinating state of mind. Bring. It. On. (Dec 12)
@trutriciahelfer: Worked with @diorabaird1 today. Super secret so don’t ask…but she’s an awesome chick! (Dec 14)
@diorabaird1: Shut it! You’re awesomer! Black Swan for sure :) RT @trutriciahelfer Worked with @diorabaird1 today. Super secret…. (Dec 14)
@diorabaird1: Let’s give @trutriciahelfer a BIG #FF cause she rocks hard core like rockers rock…ummmm…….yeah….http://www.life.com/image/72116727 (Dec 17)
@diorabaird1: Oh and yes. That is indeed my “I don’t know what I’m doin’ up here but Tarantino is makin’ me nervous” face. (Dec 17)
@trutriciahelfer: @diorabaird1 Thx for the #FF. Funny pic you dug up. The reaction to the ‘Hostel’ clip we were talking about is clear on our faces, lol. (Dec 19)
@trutriciahelfer: Too many toque pics, lol. My look from a recent job. More deets on that flick in a few weeks. http://yfrog.com/h6j5swj (Dec 27)
Tricia promises via Twitter that there will be details in a couple of weeks. Until then…
The first pictures are in! Check out these first two photos of Tricia Helfer at the ongoing2010 Spike Video Game Awards in Los Angeles, CA. Tricia is looking absolutely stunning at the event in a strapless sparkly Alice + Olivia dress. Tons more VGA pics coming up!
Tricia is nominated at this year’s VGAs for Best Performance by a Human Female for voicing Sarah Kerrigan in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. The show will begin in 15 minutes; fingers crossed she’ll win!
Update: We now have 11 photos of Tricia at the still ongoing VGAs in the gallery. Nothing on Tricia’s category yet…
Update 2: Well, the show’s over, but still nothing on Tricia’s category. According to Wikipedia, this is the first time not all awards were awarded during the show, and it would appear the Best Performance by a Human Female-category is one of those that got left out of it. We’ll just have to wait for an announcement, I guess.
Update Dec 12: Tricia winsBest Performance by a Human Female! Congratulations! Shame we didn’t get to see it happen. Or as Tricia herself put it via her official Twitter account @trutriciahelfer…
Ya, it’s pretty lame that best human male got airtime but not best human female. What era are we in? (Dec 12)
Our thoughts exactly. Meanwhile, though, we have more new pics + the first HQs in the gallery!
To begin with, Tricia will be on hand at this year’s Spike Video Game Awards, where she is up for Best Performance by a Human Female for voicing Sarah Kerrigan in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. The VGAs will be broadcast live on Spike this Saturday, December 11 beginning 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT. Catch it if you can!
Going to be at Spike’s #VGA (video game awards) on Sat. I’m up for Best Performance by a Human Female for #Starcraft. Should be fun! (Dec 9)
I’m wearing a short little sparkly number by Alice & Olivia. (Dec 9)
According to Tricia Helfer herself via her official Twitter account @trutriciahelfer, Tricia will be guest starring on TNT’s upcoming new legal dramedy Franklin & Bash in June 2011:
I’m guesting on TNT’s new show (next June) Franklin & Bash with @MP_Gosselaar Breckin Meyer Malcom McDowell. How can u go wrong with those 3 (Nov 26)
Franklin & Bash is currently in production, and as of yet does not have an official site. Wikipedia, however, has a brief description of the upcoming show:
After two streetwise lawyers take down a stuffy law firm, they are recruited by the head of the firm to bring new life to the work place. [...] The series stars Breckin Meyer and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as unconventional lawyers and longtime friends.
As always, we’ll keep you posted as to any and all new developments regarding this new little stint on TV (though it might be a while before we get more substantial news, Tricia’s episode or episodes not airing until next summer).
And they’re off! Yesterday, Acting Outlaws Tricia Helfer and Katee Sackhoff concluded the first day of their 9-10-day “LA La Ride” from Los Angeles, California to New Orleans, Louisiana. The ride is aimed at raising awareness and funds for the Gulf Restoration Network.
Tricia and Katee will be livestreaming via USTREAM from the ride everyday to recap the day’s events. The duo will be alerting their Twitter followers every time they go live, so be sure to follow them at Twitter @trutriciahelfer and @kateesackhoff for their tweets and livestream alerts. Meanwhile, in case you missed their first broadcast, check it out below or on USTREAM. The video is about 31 minutes long but is absolutely worth a look for Tricia and Katee’s personalities and hilarious stories alone. Here it is:
As an interesting little tidbit, as Tricia’s followers will know, Tricia tweeted two days ago about having auditioned for something just one day before the ride:
Gotta go study for an audition. Shit…bad timing…last day before I leave, grrrrr. (Oct 20)
Audition went well-check (fingers crossed), bikes prepped-check, bumper stickers on-check, trailer and X5 ready-check. Now packing, errrghh! (Oct 20)
In the above video, Tricia reveals the audition was actually for a part in J.J. Abrams’ (Mission: Impossible III, the Alias series) upcoming FOX pilot, Alcatraz. Hopefully, Tricia gets the part!
Anyway, check back with us again for coverage from today’s ride tomorrow, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled on USTREAM and Tricia and Katee‘s respective Twitter accounts for their daily live video ride recaps! Finally, don’t forget to visit www.actingoutlaws.org to find out how you can help advance the Acting Outlaws cause. Every little helps!
Looks like Tricia may have landed another TV role! According to Tricia Helfer’s official Twitter account @trutriciahelfer, Tricia recently wrapped filming something called “The Whole Truth” after some five days of shooting.
Although there hasn’t as of yet been an official announcement regarding her involvement in anything by that name, from Tricia’s tweeted details we suspect this is likely a guest role on the brand new ABC court drama The Whole Truth, starring Rob Morrow (Numb3rs) and Maura Tierney (ER). Hopefully, there’ll be some definitive word on this soon.
Finally got the new twitter! Gotta put that on hold tho cause I’m busy studying for filming The Whole Truth tomorrow!! (Oct 7)
So, I get to The Whole Truth set early this AM and half the crew is from Dark Blue. Lots of hugs and kisses, yay! (Oct 7)
Just wrapped on #TheWholeTruth. Was fun! Now, to workout or make a martini…hmm. (Oct 11)
The debut season of The Whole Truth is currently airing on ABC, with at least six confirmed episodes. Should the show prove a success, more episodes will likely follow. Which episode Tricia might be appearing in we don’t know (seeing as her involvement hasn’t even been confirmed yet), however with her scenes having already been filmed they will definitely have been for an upcoming Season 1 episode.
Please bear in mind that until an official source confirms “The Whole Truth” Tricia mentions in her tweets is in fact the ABC series, this should be regarded as but speculation, however as you can tell from her tweets, it all certainly points toward a brief stint in a TV production. As always, we’ll keep you posted if and when additional details or a confirmation is published.
